Just curious peoples' opinions on the designer Betsey Johnson.

I hadn't been downtown (Vancouver) in a long time and I was there the other day and stumbled upon a Betsey Johnson store...but it was after 6pm on a Sunday so it was closed. sad.gif

I like a good chunk of her stuff...some of the dresses are so adorable!

So yeah...what do you guys think? _smile.gif

The dresses are WAY overrated because you can find a lot of the same designs for much cheaper, but the bags are simply amazing! :)

Some of the stuff is really cute, but some others, is just WAY out there and over the top. I was on the plane last summer and watched this show on how this girl who was in love with Betsey Johnson had her room redesigned so it looked like Betsey Johnson's bedroom. And then, some of the Betsey Johnson clothes that this girl pulled out were freaky looking.

She has very few nice things, a lot of it is over the top.

I met her at fashion week and she was typical white trash _dry.gif

the Betsey Johnson boutique around here is pretty small. Only a handful of stuff is very wearable, but then again I don't really like outlandish things.

The bad fake tan, nasty caked on makeup, she cursed like crazy, disgusting greasy hair and she talked like it. Not even remotely classy.

Haha, yeah, it is, except it's a new color design that came out AFTER I bought my dress.

Oh, by the way, the Betsey Johnson designs are cute, but like most said, some are just over the top and something I would never wear unless I'm going to a big dress up party.

Is that her on the front page of her Website ? I was actually sort of frightened when the image loaded. ermm.gif

I've always been a fan of the subtle and low-key, so her dresses aren't my style, but I could see their appeal. They really are way, way, way too expensive, though.

She looks rather horrifying - it's just her own personal style though, and that's just my own opinion... I wonder if she wrote her own logo/name thing.

Yeah, I actually just noticed the Betsey Johnson store on Alberni a few weeks ago. I've been meaning to check it out, though. I've looked at her site and there are a lot of really cute dresses there. Some of them are over-the-top, of course, but most of them are really adorable and wearable.

crazy.gif Most of the mess is hair. Fix that, and she really wouldn't be that bad.

At least we can tellthat she loves her family. (:

her own personal style isnt for ppl to look at and think "DAMMMNN GUURRRL GORGEOUS!" it's for her to stick out and be recognizable

her fashion line, i just went to her site and i didn't see that many outlandish stuff they're all pretty nice and designer so how much do you think theyre gonna cost, 30 bucks? this isnt old navy, your supposed to expect expensive prices but yeah ive seen some fashion shows of hers and those on the runway and outlandish and i dont think ppl would wear them but maybe theyre just supposed to give you a taste of what the wearable clothes are supposed to look like
