So since the death, a lot of people tell me to "be strong." I appreciate their care and comfort immensely, but sometimes I just want to ask them
What does that even mean? |

People have been telling me that too about my cat.
My loss is nothing compared to yours but.. I have no f**king idea and everytime someone tells me that i feel as if they dont get it.And that they are just saying that because they have no idea what to say. |

I've always seen it as... be strong enough to be able to move on with your life, at least eventually.

I think it's simply something people say in a time of death. Death is confusing to all of us, those who have experienced others die and those who haven't, so it's difficult to offer words of wisdom during those times. So we go with things like "stay strong" even when there isn't substantial meaning behind it.
