why do media players (youtube vids, flash players, etc.) show on other people's profiles, but everytime I try to embed something on mine, it doesn't show up? it only has a big white space where the player is supposed to be.

It may be something within your coding that is blocking them. Can you provide either the coding that you have entered on your page or a link to your myspace?

Hm, it may just be your computer or browser? I can't find anything your codes that would not allow it to appear, and your music player is loading for me (also flash). Are you trying to put it into your About Me/Who I'd Like to Meet? Or one of the interest fields?

When I look at it its perfectly fine. You should have your friends look. If they can see the video (put the code in) its your computer (if you guys use the same browser).
