I don't know about you guys, but it usually takes me a very long time to finish one DIV .. maybe about 3 hours at least. I wanna know how long it takes you guys, cause I think I'm a really slow worker. XD.gif

Btw, mods please delete this if it's already been polled before. pinch.gif

Well I've only made a couple DIVs before so I can't exactly say.
It usually takes me a long time though, most of the time actually being to Photoshop something.

First one took all day. I was a noob though, so, it made sense.

My second one..a grand total of 10 minutes. I used the same code, just changed what needed to be changed. Haha. I'm so cheap.

Well, for me to make the graphic and be satisfied with it takes like a span of a day or two. lol. About an hour or two per graphic, sometimes more, sometimes less.

And then it takes about 30min to an hour or two to code it. Depends how complicated the layout is. -_- Usually I don't work on something for a day straight. I work on it over a few days because then I see what needs to be fixed and I get more ideas and what not =]

Haha. Yeah, I wish I could just change the graphics and keep the same code structure, but somehow my layouts just have to look different everytime. pinch.gif

Psh I do that with most of my layouts. I have like 5 different base codes for 5 different types of layouts like a layout with comments, or a layout without comments, a frame layout or a 2 column layout, etc. It's so much easier. I don't see the point in always starting over with a new code XD aha.

Oh yeah? And what's your tip?

The majority of my time falls into the design portion, not so much the coding. =]

It takes me a couple days (1-3) because I don't just do it all on one day, that's how lazy I am. (x

Sometimes I say to my self, I'll try to do a satisfying graphic one day, than the next day will be coding.

But if it was in a day, it would be a couple hours.

I'm so jealous of you and everyone else who knows coding like the back of their hands; if I'm coding and get into coding brain (yeah, there is apparently such a thing), I can do it real quick for me which is like, less than an hour...but that's also pretty much copying and pasting cB's scripts.

But making a new DIV overly is taking increasingly longer; originally it was a few hours because my graphics...left a lot to be desired, and the more I've seen the layouts here, the more I know what looks good so the design side, the Photoshopping + my need for perfection (seriously, talk about detail orientated) = lots and lots of days.

I like Lanochka's idea of having a few sets of base codes though.

it usually only takes me about 30 minutes. ive never really tried to put alot of work, effort, and detail into a layout. Which i would say that would be a downfall for me, but i just get frustrated too easily. so i stick with the simple layout look. I suppose one day i will actually attempt to spend alot of time on one.

WOAH Mark, 3 hours!

My up to the top divs that have a lot of neat little things maybe an hour or two. Or when I'm doing it for a job or something.

Myspace divs though, psh at the most they take about 30 minutes to code so the colors are perfect and their aligned in most resolutions and work in most common browsers. I can code most for about 5-10 mintues. Especially most request, I had a ton of practice helping people while on staff.

I'm extremely meticulous about everything, so it usually only takes me 30 minutes to actually make the layout, but with all the finishing touches, it can sometimes take five hours. That's why I stopped doing them...

Haha i usually work on photoshop for an hour a day for a few days until i have it how i want it, and then it takes about two hours to get the divs exactly how i want them. Then however long it takes me to fill it with content. By the time i finish filling it with stuff i want to make a new one.

Heh, anything from several hours to a week depending on the complexity of the design. Coding usually takes me a lot less longer; say 30 minutes to an hour.

It depends. If I'm trying to do something new or include some new tricks into it, it will probably take me longer. Making the image usually takes me the longest, because I tend to be indecisive. Coding goes pretty fast, though.
