Gahh...been a while since I've mad a topic (hooray for me LOL jk) but yea.

Stupid college has been making me tired/sleepy so lately I've been drinking coffee on a daily basis. Most of the time I buy it @ either Coffee Bean or when I'm feeling cheap @ the school kiosk. I've been just drinking it like nothing whenever I'm on break or when I'm studying & for me its feels weird to study without it. Long story short, its my inanimate study buddy happy.gif . It actually has gotten me focused on school (like doing hw & such)

I'm @ work now & I haven'y had coffee all day & I'm so freakin tired. Also I keep seeing things that aren't there (nothing weird like fairies or that kind of junk) but when I type up stuff I keep writing the worng things. Worst of it, I had to recently make some coffee for my dad (yes I work for my dad) & I wanted to just drink the whole pitcher of it! But I can't since technically I'm not allowed to drink coffee for this very reason & plus he has a client coming by so yea...

I think I may get some coffee when I come home from my choir practice(work & practice makes my fridays very long) just so I kick that kick back in me.

So yes...I know in the long run it will do me harm so I rather quit sooner rather than later when my dependancy is still fresh. Any suggestions? Thanks much _smile.gif

Yea...that too. Been spending all my damn money of coffee & when I actually need money like to bus home & such, guess where all my money went to? *sigh* & its gotten me into another bad habit: using my debut card whenever I run out of cash. I haven't even been drinking the large sizes yet & its got this much power over me. & without it I get major headaches like the 1 I'm experiencing now wacko.gif

First off, are you even managing your time well? Or are you procrastinating on your assignments? Maybe a better management of your time could reduce the lack of stress and therefore the caffeine intake.

I would just slowly quit, don't stop too fast. Cut down your cups by 1, then by 2 after maybe a couple days, then 3 and then so on, til you are only dependent on maybe 1 cup or so. That's the best i can think of right now.

If the trouble is getting enough rest and waking up early, there are a couple of alternatives you can take to coffee.

First off, you've got to start sleeping earlier. I've seen how late you can stay up Camille. If you have trouble sleeping, perhaps try taking melatonin, which you could probably buy at a drug store or somewhere. wink.gif

If you take a shower in the morning, start off with a warm shower and then gradually make the water colder when your finished with soap and shampoo and all that. This is supposed to wake up your body. Drinking water in the morning is also important to keep your body hydrated.

Also, try eating an apple rather than drinking coffee. I kind of have trouble waking up early, and since I don't drink coffee, I've had to use something else to wake myself up. Apples are supposed to be just as effective, but obviously, much healthier.
