Ever been offered commission for your work?

Ever asked for commission for your work?

I haven't, basically because I'm afraid that no one will care nor want to buy anything from me, and also part of me thinks it's stupid that people will pay other people for digital stuff when it's not being used commercially.

I've been offered commission before to create layouts, but I haven't taken it up because I don't like being told what to do. Also, it's never been in a very professional setting, so the people who are offering to pay do not know exactly what they want, which makes it tedious and not worth the effort (and amount of money they are offering).

No one's asked me to pay, but they've always asked me to make MySpace/Xanga etc for free. Probably because they're my friends and no way are they gonna pay. But earlier today I was thinking about doing it as a career/side job. And like Anna said, I don't like being given directions on what to make. I like to let my creativity flow. Same applies to something like an art class.

I've had people offer me money to make them things but I always tell them it's okay and make something for them and don't charge them... my skills are NOT good enough for me to charge.

I've been asked to do layouts, business cards, logos. Sometimes people expect me to design something for them for free, those people never get replies back. I charge by the hour anyways and most people I've encountered aren't with that because they want cheap labor.

I was just offered to make a commision on something but I had to turn it down because it required to make a new weblayout every 4-6 weeks. I couldn't keep up with that.
