Hey, I'm attempting (key word: attempting) to make my first layout and I'm having a little trouble with coding. Can anyone break it down for me? Basically tell me what this bit of coding means?
CODE <!-- begin code provided by createblog.com --> <style type="text/css"> #rblEprops, #pnlEnabled table, #pnlEprops table { width: auto !important; } table.header, table.main, table.footer, table.navigation{ /* edit width */ width:265; } table.blogbody, div.blogheader, .caption{ width:235; } texttable.left, td.mainleft, table.left, table.navigation, table.footer, table.search { display: none; } table.blogbody { /* edits your blog or entry space */ border: 0px; background-color:transparent; padding-top:0px; padding-right:0px; } hr { color: #D6DC58; } div.blogspace { width:275px; height:300px; margin-left:-210px; margin-top:-375px; overflow:auto; background-color:transparent; scrollbar-Arrow-Color: #ffffff; scrollbar-Track-Color: #A5B57B; scrollbar-Shadow-Color: #A5B57B; scrollbar-Face-Color: #A5B57B; scrollbar-Highlight-Color: #A5B57B; scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #A5B57B; scrollbar-3dLight-Color: #A5B57B; } </style> <!-- end code provided by createblog.com --> I have a slight idea what it means, but I'm not sure so basically, can anyone clarify it for me? Thanks! <3 |

What I'm most unsure about is this bit:
CODE <!-- begin code provided by createblog.com --> <style type="text/css"> #rblEprops, #pnlEnabled table, #pnlEprops table { width: auto !important; } table.header, table.main, table.footer, table.navigation{ /* edit width */ width:265; } table.blogbody, div.blogheader, .caption{ width:235; } <!-- end code provided by createblog.com --> Like what widths they edit and such |

Okay, I'll break it down for you.
QUOTE #rblEprops, #pnlEnabled table, #pnlEprops table { width: auto !important; } This looks like it's supposed to resize the width of the comments box. You replace "auto !important" with the size you want it. QUOTE table.header, table.main, table.footer, table.navigation{ /* edit width */ width:265; This looks like it edits the width of your entire Xanga. QUOTE table.blogbody, div.blogheader, .caption{ width:235; } This looks like it edits the size of your actual blog bodies. I hope that helped. |

Thanks for that, Kath! <3 And "auto !important", does that leave the comment box the size it was before? Like the normal size?

"Auto! Important" resizes your comment box so it's automatically the same width as your main blog.

Okay, lemme get this straight: QUOTE QUOTE table.header, table.main, table.footer, table.navigation{ /* edit width */ width:265; This looks like it edits the width of your entire Xanga. This would change so that the entire xanga is smaller, modules and blog area in all. QUOTE QUOTE table.blogbody, div.blogheader, .caption{ width:235; } This looks like it edits the size of your actual blog bodies. This would edit your div frames of just the blog itself? |
