Hey guys.

So my school is having an election next week and I want to run for Vice President. The thing is, I'm trying to come up with a catchy way for people to think fondly of me when it comes to voting!

We're allowed 4 days to campaign and put posters up and what not, so I wanted some ideas for anything.

I'll give you some info that you can maybe draw from:

-My first name is Nora, last name Swenson.
-Some people call me "Snorey" as a nickname.
-I'm a Junior/11th grader.
-Um, I have blond hair and blue eyes? I don't know if that could help.

I'm not sure what else you might want to know, but ask me and I'll write back. Thanks!

That watermelon icon certainly won't be a good attraction for your poster, in case you were wondering!

whatever you decide for your posters, make sure people will see them; post them in public areas, so people actually know you are running for vp. most people will just walk by the posters so don't write like 23942304 things on it- just write something like, VOTE NORA SWENSON FOR VP!" be direct and to the point.

make sure your speech shows that you are responsible and demonstrates maturity, instead of being an "uhh... i'm uh... going to be a great vp if you vote me!!!!!!!!1" speech. speeches are huge!

then there's another thing that really influences elections at my school- your personality. if people don't like the type of person you are- like if you're one of those people who get wasted every weekend or get really mean, then they're probably not going to vote for you, regardless of your campaign. this, you can't really change in a week, but it's something to keep in mind.

I know this isn't necessarily a school subject related discusion/feedback thread, but since you're not getting much in the way of responses, perhaps if it's the School forum you could get more feedback.

Please PM me if you have questions or concerns. :)

Per request, moved back to The Lounge. If this doesn't get responses, it'll get moved back. So help the poster out, please.

Also, for future reference, creating a post in The Lounge for the exclusive reason of getting more traffic isn't a valid reason. I feel like being nice right now since the peanut butter and celery sticks I'm eating are just that good.

I don't know how charismatic you are or what your style of running things is...

But if you want to try a more "humorous" approach, post some in the women's restroom and get some guys to post some in the men's restroom as well. As for the exactly locations within the restrooms, well, I'll let you have fun with that...

Victoria's Secret is that she votes for Nora Swenson.
CHUCK NORRIS VOTED FOR NORA SWENSON

Or you can just get a giant poster and make it some obnoxious color and print in fat letters
"SNOREY SWENSON
SNOREY SWENSON
SNOREY SWENSON" like a billion times...
then "it kind of grows on you."

Get your friends to print out hundreds of paper that say NORA SWENSON FOR VP and have a paper posting party before school and afterschool. Just run around with a lot of tape and paper and go crazy.

I had the weirdest posters :) EVARR
Like when I was running for student council and congress and NHS board... I had this weird trademark of a tomato.... I cut out a lot of large tomatoes and painted them green and red and they had my name in white. And I made it :P

I guess it kind of helped that the people running against me made stickers for me too...

Oh and during lunch, get some friends and stand on top of the table and cause a (nice) scene. Make sure you get the teachers laughing or else you'll get ownt. _smile.gif

The infamous 'i' campaign.
iNora. With a picture of you doing the iPod dance. If that's your thing.
Unless that's too unoriginal for you.
Maybe I'll think up better ones later when my creativity sparks.
