Do you think it's possible for you to be truly in love with someone and not trust them?
My boyfriend tells me that he really does love me. but I guess sometimes he doesnt trust me.. and I ask him why he doesnt (because I haven't ever done anything to break the trust) but he just says.. "why should I..I have no reason to?" isnt the fact that he loves me enough? I don't understand. What could I possibly do to gain his trust? |

Maybe he's just scared.
Being in love is scary, and you worry a lot about losing them. Maybe he's been in tough relationships, so it's hard for him to trust you. I've been with my boyfriend for a year, &I still get nervous about trusting him. It gets easier over time, but he still gets frustrated when I say I'm doubting things. |

Oh yes, it's easy to love without trusting someone. I love my boyfriend to the point of obsession (little joke there), but I can't really say that I trust him. There are times that things pop into mind that make me wonder if he's cheating on me, if he ever would, and if he even loves me or not. But I'm not really a person that trusts easily... Maybe your boyfriend is the same way? Or maybe it's like what Cupcakex mentioned and he was hurt in the past. Give it some time, he won't even realize it, but eventually all thoughts of distrust or doubt will fade. Stay loyal and honest with him, and he won't have any reason not to.

Hmm, while everyone's trying to beat around the bush here, I will put it simply: No. You can't truly love someone if you can't even trust them. If you can't trust them, but you feel like you love them, it's because you're naive and paranoid and it's more or less "puppy love," which is meaningless.

sigh. well I try to show/reassure him in so many ways.. it never seems to work. but yeah.. hopefully over time he'll trust me more. |

I believe that you can love someone, but not completely trust them, but you can't completely love someone and not trust them.
