Hmm. Im not sure if this is in the right spot because i couldnt figure out where to put it, so if someone could move it to its appropriate place then that would be great.

I know that theres already a Career Thread but I didnt think that it had anything to do with what your first job ever was so.. yeah.

I,personally, havent had a first job yet. pinch.gif haha. (but i have applied at several places)

but I wondering what everyone first job was and what you thought about it.

First job? Hmmm. I worked for my mom. In her office. Lmao.
All I did was type up some documents the whole day for 2 months.

It gets boring but I don't mind. I could have as much breaks as I want... Well. Until my mom tells me off. ahahha.

^Hmm. It depends where. You can get a job at McDonalds and Burger King and some other Fast food places at 15. Most other resturants hire at 16 but that doesnt mean you can get a job at 16. Publix hires at 14 but you can only be a bagger or work in the floral arrangement dept. The WalMart in our town hires at 16. You really just have to ask the place you want to hire at the minimum age requirement. By the way I knew all that because Ive applied at WalMart and Publix and millions of my friends work at BK and McDonalds. laugh.gif

^ Ooooh Publix! That's my first pick.
I think you can work at mcdonalds at 14. I had a friend in 8th grade that was 14 and worked there.
Walmart where I live you have to be at least 18.

Hmmm. I'm 17... and I've never had one. But I plan on getting one this summer. I just cant decide on where yet. Maybe a department store? That way I could get a discount and spend all my money. Or maybe a grocery store? Hallmark? Or maybe Chikfila? XD.gif

I still have my first job. I'm a farm kid, so I work on the farm (naturally). I've been filing taxes since I was 7, so it technically counts as a job. I get paid by the month, but if you figure it out it comes to $3.30/hr. pinch.gif

Well I just hope that the ancient, decaying ladies that work at the register aren't evil. Heh. Also, I hated how I never saved anything from working there because I was constantly shoving things in the stock room and then buying them. laugh.gif

Seriously, tutoring is the best job you can get because only certain people can apply for the job but it pays a looooot. I've been offered three tutoring jobs this year, and one of them pays from $9-13/hr depending on experience and because I've had some, they were offering me around $12. I'm really busy though, so I'm not able to work.

I got another offer recently over summer to work as a Chinese/English translator at $10/hr though so that will probably be my first job...

^ Yeah, but if anyone needs tutoring, they just go to NHS kids. stubborn.gif I would so do that if there were people willing to pay me to tutor them. XD.gif

Well, there are always outside kids that would want tutoring. I tutor high school students in math for community service at one of my school clubs too, but I get job offers all the time with people calling in from other schools.

I was a busgirl at a cheap restaurant.
It was really lame, but now I'm a waitress, and most of the time, I have to bus my own tables anyway, lol.

I first worked at a bakery,It was amazing fun and it was owned by a wealthy and kind Polish family.Never once did they overwork me or try rip me off of pay.

Pay was really good.I got 23 dollars a hour and some sort of basket of leftover pastrys at the end of each day.And when i left that job to go to college,The grandmother[and owner] as a going-away present gave me her famous chocolate-peanut butter muffin recipe. _smile.gif
