Well, I guess it's "extra baggage" or whatever but if one feels like they can deal with it, go ahead.

Its something you have to deal with if you actually want to have a relationship with that person enough. I guess I really wouldn't choose to be in a relationship with someone with a kid unless I really really got to know them. It would just seem a bit weird if someone my age had a kid already, I mean I would think it was great that he decided to keep it and care for it but it would seem a little to much?

It matters on the person in the end.

One of my best friends, likes this girl he met in WoW, and she has a son who's 1 1/2.

I told him it's not that big of a deal, if he thinks he's ready for that kind of commitment.

It turns out he's incredibly adorable, and very well behaved, for the most part.

I wished him the best of luck, but as for me, I don't think that I'd be ready to date a guy, who has a kid, with someone else.

It wouldn't be that big of a deal, if they didn't have any baby-mama drama.
Or, baby-daddy drama.

heheh.

i don't know... it really depends on how old you both are.
also, if the child is already a teenager, they may not accept you into their lives so quickly.

it probably would be difficult
but i've known people who've worked it out

It really depends on the people involved. The guy my friend is dating has an adorable eight year old daughter. Since he has joint custody with the mother, they hang out after his daughter is asleep or on the weeks that she is with her mom. The last thing you want is to make them choose between you and the kid.

Personally, it would depend on how strong my feelings are for the person, and age of course. If I really really love them, then I wouldn't care. But if I just like them, then maybe not.

Old topic but yeah, let's change the situation up. You've just met and unbelievably connected. Having a baby with her ex and her family sort of dislike the people I hang and don't trust me. Thing is man... sighs* I miss her
