My friend and I were playing halo, and all of a sudden his internet stops working. But it still worked in xfire, because we we're in a voice chat. Firefox wouldn't work. Internet explorer wouldn't work. iTunes store wouldn't even work.

I told him to run a vrius scan.

He found out he has a keylogger called H@tKeysH@@k

This is what I know about it:
Name: H@tKeysH@@k
Category: Keylogger
Dangerous: Yes
HOTKEYSHOOK is a keylogger. H@tkeysh@@k.dll is a hotkey dynamic library file that makes this keylogger live. It logs your typed keys (not excluding passwords, credit card info and other sensitive data). h@tkeysh@@k.dll is the main file of this malicious software, if you find it on your computer you should download a spyware scanner immediatedly.

In ad-aware it gave him this:
File description
Keylogger, Runs stealth , prevents removal

He's kinda freaking out on me, help? What can he do?

Well, the only way I know how to get rid of something like that is to completely dump windows, and reinstall it. mellow.gif

That way everything would be back to the way it was when he first bought his computer. Some viruses can't be gotten rid of that way though.
