I understand this might have been brought up before, and if so I would like to second it. As you all know, there are many many many clubs on the site now and days. When your viewing threads like the lounge and things, the sub thread with the newest post is displayed at the top. Unfortunately, when a club or something edits their top post, there is no change. I wish there could be a change. KEEP READING... But I do understand that people could backspace as an edit just to get there place to the top. Well I think that we could maybe use it as a 30+ character change in order for it to make it's way to the top?

Other users I would appreciate your input. _smile.gif

Selvy, you can always just add a reply and bump the topic, can't you?

Kaycee do understand what he is saying? If you do, do you mind providing some clarification?

Ooooh.... yeah why not just add another post? It's really not that huge a deal. I mean, I realize that there's an issue with double posting, but if you're bumping a topic it's usually not that big of a deal (as long as you don't bump it after only like 30mins).

The mods are reasonable; if you double post after a reasonable while, it's fine. I've bumped a couple topics myself. whistling.gif

As long as your not bumping topics that haven't had anything posting in them for a couple of yours or a couple of days its fine. I've never had a problem until someone goes in the topic they made like 3 minutes ago and posts about 5 or more times later. pinch.gif

I actually like this idea. It seems pretty cool, cause I know... I've gotten some toes stepped on for bumping a topic... even when it was reasonable. mellow.gif

I've done this a couple of times as well. I think this is a good idea. It's a lot easier than trying to bring the topic up from the grave.

Maybe if they had a bump feature that allowed you to use one bump one the topic every 3/4 days if you were the creator that topic???

^I could really see that feature be abused very, very, very, badly.

^As could I.

About the bumping topics issue, I don't really have a problem with it, unless the bump was spam. Most times when a topic is bumped, it's someone trying to get their post count up and they reply with a "Hahahahh thats silly" or "OMG YOU HAVE SKILLZZZ" That is when I get peeved and the horns come out. devil.gif And the same with double posting. If your second post is legit, most mods won't mind.

See, if a topic has made it to the second page or it's been a couple of days I don't see a reason why a person can't post "I'm bumping this thread because ___" - even if it's just because you wanted to hear more discussion. I think some of us are getting better about jumping on people for so-called pointless posts. wink.gif

Especially in the case of clubs, too. If I edit the first post in a club thread, I'll also add a new post that says "added ____ to the first post". I don't see anything wrong with that at all. _smile.gif

Your idea for being able to bump threads, can you elaborate on that? If it's something that wouldn't be too difficult to implement, I'd like to hear about it.

hi,

i dont think its a good idea to automatically bump them. itll just confuse users, as most people skip to the posts they havent read in a topic theyve already been to. so without a new post notifying whats been changed, the changes will go unnoticed.

thanks for the suggestion though. =)
