Not sure if this should be in Relationships or not, but oh well. I'll put it in here.
When your parents are mad at you, is it more of a "Oh shit, she's going to blow!" or a "Ugh, not again" sort of thing? For me, it really depends on what they're mad at me for. If it's for grades, it's definitely a "FRICK HIDE UNDER THE TABLE" situation, but for dumb things like staying on the computer way too long and hogging the bathroom, it's just a little annoying. At what point does it turn into something serious? |

For me it's more of a "How fast can I get to my room?" thing.
I like to avoid the fights as much as possible. ...But then of course, she's usually waiting for me as soon as I come out. |

The more serious the situation is, the more serious they'll be.
Isn't that a given? Dumb question. |

When my dad is pissed we just glare at each other. I know he wants to say something like always but he knows there's no point for my stubborn ass to hear him out. We used to get in fist fights, real actual fist fights when I was younger because he used to hit me, so I retaliated. As for my mom, when she's mad she doesn't say anything, she's scared to... which really makes my heart heavy to know that I do that to her -_-

For me it's "oh boy...she's going to start listing out EVERY wrong thing that I did since birth, then nag about the state of my room, then nag about how irresponsible I am, then nag about my grades, then nag about the fact that she's nagging when she shouldn't be....this could take a long while I better start tuning her out"

To tell you the truth, I'm not really scared of my parents. So, I'd never really panic in my mind unless I did something really bad. Otherwise, I'd probably just be thinking, great he's doing it again.

When my parents get upset with me I stick up for myself. Age doesn't make you more intellegent or correct. Age gives you experrience. Experience isn't always good. I think my mom is f**king stupid, but I love her to death. Her life experiences have turned her into a total idiot. She tends to dicipline us out of spite when she should be doing it because she loves us. She also tends to freak out at the dumest shit. My dad on the other hand is more level headed. He's usually pretty good when he's angry, and waits until he's calm before he takes action.

So, use them. When my mom gets upset at me, I'm like, whatever. I know how she works. First she gets really angry, then later she calms down and understands. Then she throws in these hints every now and then. |

If its about my grades they both come in my room and complain that I'm not studying enough and threaten to take my computer away and blame it all on that. And I yell at them back because I'm not letting them walk all over me. And if its about something else, same thing happens until I walk away.

Whenever my mom gets mad she states everything that happened before, like STOP LIVING IN THE PAST. Then when I tell her 'you already told me this' she'll be like 'thats not the point!' blahblah |

I can't talk back to my parents (it makes me feel bad, and I know I'd regret it later) - I don't think I can actually recall ever doing that.
Strange. |

I always understand my parents but sometimes they think they do when they don't. When my dad gets angry or sees something wrong even small things to he makes a big deal out of, he repeats the same stuff over and over again, he sees stubborness as a nail and repetition of right stuff is a hammer but My mom is cooler but when she gets angry she explodes and adds a little bit of violence. No worries, it doesnt hurt me, I just show I'm sorry and it wont happen again and eventually they will forget. :]

My dad never really gets mad at me. I don't like it when he changes his voice tone over stupid things and it makes him sound like hes really mad, and he says hes not. Thats the only time I really get annoyed over it. If its about grades I tend to ignore it because no matter how hard I try its never good enough.

Mine‘s more of a "f**k. Not again. Ugh. Should I stay here and listen to how useless I am for the 3918th time or should I fight back this time?" I actually never think about running into my room.
Then, when she tries hitting me, I run. But not to my room, to her room. And I lock the door. And I start crushing her cigarettes/hiding them/flushing them down. BUAHAHAHA. |

mine is always more annoying and emotionally draining than scary. i get pulled into these really long, angry lectures if i do something bad. you know, the type that make you steal secret glances at the clock and think "when is this going to be over already!??!?!?"
what makes my parents the most angry is when i lie to them. then i know i'm in for BIG TROUBLE... which usually is a very extended version of the long angry lecture. |
