Was anyone else invited to the National Studen Leadership Conference? Are you going to go? Which program?

Yes, I was.
I want to but I don't think my mom wants to spend that much money for 10 days.

I got one in the end of 7th grade.

My brother got one when he was a junior...but he was never an honors student so I just thought it was junk.

Only a few get selected and it's not by grades. A teacher reccomends you based on attitude and potential as a leader.

i've received invitations 3 times, i think. i honestly think it's a joke because a lot of my friends (even the not so smart ones) got them. i know of one girl who went on one of the conferences. she said it was fun and something to put on a college application.

You can get nominated by alumni, too, right? My friend reccomended me but...la moolah. She said it was a terrific experience, but I'm looking for something more local and cheaper.

Yeah, most of my friends from school got one too... including one who sits in summer school every single year. Ehh. pinch.gif

I've been invited every year since 9th grade. I went to one in Houston, and it was a lot of fun. But I think PeopletoPeople is a lot better.

I think I was invited last year. It used addressed to one of the names I use for online purposes so I thought it was junk mail.

I got invited as well. I always get these things but I'm not sure how -.- Anyone get invited to LeadAmerica things as well? I've gotten those things since middle school....but I never go. They look like fun experiences but no moolah. + I always thought they were sort of a joke. I didn't seriously think that teachers would nominate you for it.

I am most interested in the Geneva one, though.
