It's sad, but if Barack Obama wins the next presidential election, he will not be alive for very long. I'm not saying I want this, not at all. In fact I hope I'm wrong. Nothing would make me happier than to have a Black Democrat President. The problem is that he is in fact Black and there are many hate groups in America that will never stand for this and will do whatever it takes to eradicate any threat to the White Male Chauvinist. I guess Hilary will have to watch out as well, but I don't care about her.

Think about our history:

Abraham Lincoln - Freed Slaves - ASSASSINATED
John F. Kennedy - Help Develop the Civil Rights Act of 1964- ASSASSINATED
Martin Luther King Jr. - Fought for Equality - ASSASSINATED
Malcolm X - Fought for Equality - ASSASSINATED

If you only want for a Black man to be in the White House, no matter how short his life is while there, then by all means vote for him.
If you value the life of a Human being, please vote for Rudy Giuliani

Pardon my French, but how the hell is this news?

Was W.E.B. DuBois assassinated? Booker T. Washington?

PM me explaining how this is news if you want this re-opened.

Re-opened and moved to Debate.

Hmm, I really have no say in this because I have NO idea what's going on in politics. Though I did do a summary on Giuliani about like... 5 minutes ago.

It's news because he could potentially be our first Black president and our nation has a history of discouraging Black advancement(I mean in politics and "back of the bus" type shit. Don't turn this into another "Why are blacks so damn lazy" post).

You're taking a lot of events in history that have different factors/circumstances leading up to them and trying to apply them to a 21st century scenery -- and that's a huge mistake. It's still only in the stages of happenstance that Barack Obama will be chosen as the Democratic nomination for the presidency, let alone win the whole enchilada, so let's calm down before we start claiming that our maybe-perhaps-president-in-two-years is going to be shot, okay?

No more A + B + C = Z arguments, thanks.

^ I actually think the both of them are more probable than a Republican winner at this point, but that's another argument entirely.

I think it's pretty unlikely that anyone will assassinate Barack Obama. The people that you mentioned were killed for very specific reasons, mostly because they were orchestrating huge amounts of change in a country that is used to traditionalism and familiarity. All of those people were in the midst of revolutions of thought. Mr. Obama is not.

Because Mitt Romney is what, a small potato? Why Giuliani?

But yea... There are plenty of people who hate George Bush. But he hasn't been assasinated. And like Sammi said, there were circumstances which provoked the above assasinations. Not JUST race. If Obama were to be assasinated, then presumably it would be as a result of policy, not race.

Are you serious? All the other countries love us because we hate our president. So, I doubt they will try and kill us because they'll be waiting to see which one of us does it first...
Secondly, I think that everyone here in America for the most part is a tree huggin' hippie who doesn't believe in killing. So, is safer than if he was on the endangered species list.

Booyakasha....Next.

I'm gonna kill Obama. Not because he's black, but because he's democrat. I hate democrats...I'll make Hilary do it so that I won't be the one to blame. HAHAHAHAHA. Sort of like in Saw.

You're making fun of him for hating Democrats, but you're rolling your eyes at the fact that he's a Republican. If you want to act all smart, it would be better to be more mature about it and not make fun of anyone for familiarizing themselves with a certain political party as long as they have fact and reason to back up their thoughts on how the country should be run.

I hope it doesn't happen either, because I hope he doesn't win. Seriously, every time I ask someone why they like Obama so much, they can't really name a reason other than "well he's really popular." There was so much hype about him winning the race even before he decided to run. I don't think he stands a chance. It'll be hilarious watching him and Hilary ripping into each other during the primaries.

People probably support him because they relate to his opinions on the policies of the country. At least, that's my reason. He was against the War in Iraq from the beginning, he supports the choice to an abortion, he supports homosexual marriage, he doesn't want to privatize healthcare, etc. etc. He's also incredibly intelligent and there's nothing that attracts me more to a person than intelligence.

No, I was "rolling my eyes" over him saying that he hated democrats. I think its screwed up to hate someone just because you disagree with them. I'm a democrat, but I surely dont hate republicans. Yeah, I disagree with them, but I definately dont hate them for it. stubborn.gif

And I most definately was not trying to act smart by making fun of him for his political opinions.

think of the year today 2007, do u honestly believe that he will die? look where bush has led this country and no one has bothered or come close to ending his life, i honestly believe that his life will not end ubruptly because of his race, and his choice to run for office

I guess Hilary will have to watch out as well, but I don't care about her.
wrong way to word that, and offensive... if u care that Obama's life will end because of the color of his skin then why not Clinton?

If you value the life of a Human being, please vote for Rudy Giuliani
seems bias of you to mention such... people have a choice to vote for who ever they want, and who ever wins will be under the protection that the current president is receiving

oh its 2007!
racism has no effect on politics these days!
we're all treated equally! only "wacko" racists want to bring him down!
no.

there is a high chance he would be assasinated
and many people would agree with that [think about the end movie Head of State]
I'm sure he's worried about it too, but if he even become president that will be a huge step for our country

I never said race never has any effects on politics. It does.
He very well could be at risk for being assasinated, but I dont think he would be any more likely than a white person. Just like there are racist white people, there are black ones who are racist against whites. I dont think either one would be stupid enough this day and age to attempt to assasinate someone due to their race unless they were mentally unstable. 50 years ago it would have been ALOT easier. But today? No, I dont think so. I think any mentally sane person would realize that if they even attempted it, they'd most likely fail, and end up rotting in jail for it. The chances of someone succeeding at it are slim to nothing.

Look at how many people hate Bush. Not because of his race, but for what he's done so far during his presidency. Over 60% of his own country disagrees with him, and most of the world hates him. So many people I'm sure would LOVE to kill him, but no one's been successful at getting close enough yet. And when you just look at Obama's race, I'm sure far less people are going to hate him around the world. So how would he stand a better chance than Bush of being assasinated?

Haha, if Dubya's not dead, I think Obama will be fine.

I can almost guarantee that most people you walk up to and ask them what is the first thing that pops into their head when you say George W. Bush it will be 'Evil, stupid, dumb, hill billy, idiotic, and Texas.'

Ha ha.

Are you dumb? Many people have tried to kill Geroge W. They all get stopped and arrested. Though I'm only talking from opinion and not fact, I think that they don't publicise these actions because they don't want people trying to imitate them. Plus most people who decide to assassinate the president talk about it a lot before they actually do it, so it's not exactly hard to know which people want to kill him.

http://english.pravda.ru/accidents/21/96/383/15835_Bush.html

This is a story of a guy who threw a grenade into a crowd of people with George W. Bush in it. There are more examples than this, but I'll use this one because it was the first one I saw.

Thats probably true though, they dont want civilians knowing about it. I guess sensing the media would end up sending people in a panic mode?

I have read every Barack Obama book, I have went to 11 Barack Obama speeches, and I have had him sign one of my books. I am pretty sure I hope he wins, and I am pretty sure he will. His popularity is astounding. No other presidential candidate right now gets the crowds, the support, and the website hits as Barack Obama. I watch when he gives public outdoor speeches and the amount of people that show up is amazing. Take it from the Illinois point of view, he won by a LAND SLIDE here, and he will do so when it comes to the Presidential Election. If you are just not wanting him to win because of his supporters not knowing why they like him, I am sorry you feel that way. You should learn a little yourself.....

I also hate it when people say it would be awesome for him to be the first black president. All I have to say is color doesnt matter, so shut the **** up and actually vote on what you believe in.

So, forgive me, cause math isn't my strongest subject and I'm doing a little math here... so... if my great grandmother didn't go to college and my grandmother didn't go to college and my mom didn't go to college... that means I won't go to college?

Is that your logic here? wacko.gif

Just because something happens once or twice doesn't mean it will happen again. Things have changed a lot in the past few decades. Or have you not been paying attention?

I don`t know whether or not Barack will win, but if he does, I do get the feeling that he will get assassinated, or that there will be attempts.

I apologize tremendously for not being able to remember your name, but I think you say it best when you say who CARES if he's the first black president? Point is he's a great guy and a great candidate, I'd love to see him in office regardless of his color.

The unfortunate truth behind presidencies is that they're always run by a council that makes the majority of the decisions. Obama has amazing ideas to help improve this country, but ultimately, his administration will collective share the load of work. However, he's the one who is going to receive the political backlash from the entire world.

Case in point, George W. Bush, the son of another president, the mirror image of a regime that sought out to bring back imperialism as we know it. It may seem a bit extreme, but think about it for a second; if all we really wanted to do was find weapons of mass destruction and take down Sadaam, why are we still in Iraq. But do you think that lies solely on W? Hell no.

So be prepared for Obama's administration to make decisions that this entire country won't be able to agree on. Don't let one man take the heat of the entire government.

^ That's so true. It's always people behind the scenes that are running the show. Like with Bush, he's just a puppet. I'm convinced it's Cheney making all the calls. Either way though, we need a good president this time around. Hopefully a Democrat... whether its Obama, Hilary, or whoever.

Two things:
First, I am very suprised at how long this post has been going. I only did it cause I was bored. But I definitely would like this to remain a popular topic of discussion.
Second, and this is for all the people who have made the argument of "Well, Bush is a lot worse than O'Bama but no one has tried to kill him." That's complete bullshit first of all. Many people have tried and failed to kill Bush. Why? Because they weren't prepared enough. Also because they were either a Democrat or an Independent. Not saying that Democrats or Independents are stupid, far from it(I myself am an Independent), just that these types of people usually make rash decisions instead of going over a plan. The reason that George Bush has not been successfully assassinated yet is because no Republican will go after him. Republicans f**kin love Bush. They LOVE him. Why? Because he brought them a War. That's it. f**k his politics, f**k everything he has done thus far, he brought a war and Republicans love him for it. If Bush was a Democrat doing all this shit, he'd have been dead two days after Katrina. Now O'Bama is unfortunately in the crosshairs right now for his fame. People forget he used to do Coke, same as Bush. O'Bama will lose because he is black. Hilary will lose because she is a woman. Yes, it's the year 2007 but think on this, that's probably exactly what people thought when an Irishman took office in 1960. It's 1960, people aren't as crazy as before. f**k that. Giuliani has a decent shot at winning strictly on his actions following 9-11 and I guarantee that's all he will run on. Before 9-11 people HATED Giulianni. Hated him. Now this was almost 7 years ago, so Im not entirely sure why and I'm too lazy to look it up. But people all over hated Giuliani. And he cheated on his wife. And he has all sorts of health problems. What will end up happening is an unknown will somehow slip into office and everyone will be shaking their heads saying "Who the f**k is this guy?" This guy is the person that the middle-country white conservatives came out in droves to vote for. They will find votes any way they can. They will take senior citizens out their damn wheelchairs and drag them to the polls. You can say whatever the f**k you want now, just wait. Point is, the f**kin Karate kid has a better chance of becoming the next president than Hilary or O'Bama.

^ You know what, you're right. Thank you, seriously. I never thought of it that way.

It's a shame though that Hilary and Obama dont stand much of a chance against a Republican. I wonder if Edwards might have the best chance, since he is neither a minority or a female?

^ What, so you're trying to say that conspiracies never occur within our government? You're in lala land.

I dont know about the other three, but the assasination of Kennedy had to have been a conspiracy. But all four men fought for equality, something alot of white Americans at the time were strongly against... especially in the South.

No, I honestly dont think it was. I think both Clinton and the Bush administration might have known that Bin Laden was plotting to attack, but I dont think they had any idea on what they were actually going to do. I think we should have had tighter security in our airports... but oh well.

What are you trying to say? Just because I believe one thing was that happened 40 years ago was a conspiracy, doesnt mean that I think everything else is too. stubborn.gif

The whole 9-11 conspiracy thing is complete bullshit. Al Queda was fully responsible and though it is a possibility that there were a few sleeper agents in our own gov't, the idea that Bush and his cabinet had any knowledge of what would happen that day is ridiculous. It was sad, but Bush took this as a sign from God(recorded story, he says God told him to go to war) and decided to invade Afghanistan which led to Iraq, not for Hussein, not for democracy, but for oil, Texas tea, Black gold. Anyone who thinks differently is a f**kin moron.
This is not an opinion, it is a goddamn fact. Maybe they thought there were WMDs, maybe not. I don't f**kin care about that. America has hundreds of WMD's, nobody's invading us. The middle east holds the majority of the worlds oil. Whoever controls the countries controls the oil. Whoever controls the oil has the potential to control the world. I'm not talking Dictatorship, America would never stand for it. I'm talking trade, treaties, alliances, etc. and so forth all controlled by the world's largest superpower. I know what you people are gonna say. "You have no idea what you're talking about, blah blah.." f**k you.
Do you think we really cared about Saddham Husein even in the 90's. No. You think he's the only dictator who carried out mass genocide? We care about Castro because Cuba has the potential to be one of the greatest trading routes we've ever had. Castro closed off all trade with the U.S decades ago, why do you think Cuban cigars are illegal. They're no more toxic than any cigar you can buy from a corner store. Taste a little bit better, but that's it. We care about Saddham because of the oil. What about the dictators in all these poor African countries that have no monetary value or strategic positioning potential during a time of war? The U.S. doesn't lift a finger to support them. Sure we send out "volunteer" red cross occasionally. Like that will really help the hundreds of thousands of starving Africans being meticulously eradicated. Think the Holocaust with larger casualties.
Don't be fooled into what they tell you, this was never about freedom, diplomacy, or democracy. This was about money. Plain and simple. Which is the main reason for the conspiracy theories. The same thing happened during Pearl Harbor, there was talk of a conspiracy within our government, that they knew about the attack and didn't do anything to prevent it. Pearl Harbor was the last straw and the reason we went to war. This also took us out of the great depression. These theories seem very plausible when you think about them, but we have to hold onto some sort of faith in our gov't. If real proof ever surfaces that our gov't knew about 9-11, there will be true chaos, riots in the streets and the fall of the American way. This scenario is probably my greatest fear.

Another thing, 9-11 was not the first attack by Al Queda on American soil. They bombed a US embassy during the Clinton administration and the threats were there in plain site. Sure they didn't have knowledge of 9-11, but they could have if they investigated. I can't say that it is "impossible" that our gov't knew about 9-11 or even assisted in the attack itself, rather I refuse to believe that our gov't cared so little for human life and the security of it's people. That's all, let's get back to O'Bama and Hillary. This topic has nothing to do with 9-11.

Let me just make this one short and sweet. Any canidate running for president will put us Americans in a better situation then we're in with the retard in office now.

But we got a little more than a year to decide who has the propper qualifcations to sit in office. but I'm 100% sure that Americans are 100% ready for change. as long as we don't have some nut job in office. we'll be all good!

^If you guys are gonna complain about how stupid this president is, at least state your reasons. I don't really enjoy him much either, but I at least I know why I dislike him. I didn't jump on the bandwagon of Anti-Bushies and I think it's stupid for people to just not like a president based on popular thought and media manipulation. Of course they're gonna report on every bad decision he makes and most of the time they exaggerate the situation to an almost unrecognizable degree. Why? Because it boosts ratings you f**kin cows.

Wait, I take that back. Anyone who is against the war.

Yeah, I highly doubt that this is true. I would love to see how well the country runs if you ever get put into office. The streets of DC will run red with the blood of orphans and the whole world will look at you and say "Wow I don't think she knows what she's doing."
Unfortunately one person, no matter who they are in this gov't, cannot make the decisions themselves, they have to get passed by a commitee(congress, house of representatives, etc.), so the decision to kill orpans and spill their blood over the capitol would most likely never get passed. However, if we actually do some research on the candidates we might be able to vote in a commitee full of orphan killers. So yes, there is hope.

The point Im trying to make is that orphans suck and they should die. "Wha!! Wha!! I was thrown out of a moving car when I was still an infant!! Pity ME!!" NO. I am gonna type at my computer that cost $1000 of money that I didn't earn while sitting in my comfortable leather office chair my parents were nice enough to buy me out of the goodness of their heart while I eat anything I want and look at porn any time I want(none of this is true. haha. I wish someone would just buy me shit). Parents are great, look into it orphans.

If there is a hell, I think I'm going there.

First of, not sure who George Wallace is unless you're talking about the actor who is black and I believe still alive. Whoever you're talking about probably deserved what he got if he was pro-segregation. Actually, what point are you trying to make here? All I'm getting from this is that it's possible to kill a politician without there being a conspiracy behind it, in which case who cares?

He is already getting death threats stemmed from race. Its nothing new, sad but true. I dont think it would be as big of an issue as those other people you listed as assassinated. Racism isnt as in your face and blatant as it was back then. He's also bipartisan. Not just a democrat. He has conservative values of alot of issues, and just because you belong to a certain party doesnt make you all think the same way. Im pretty sure not all republicans are gay, even though there have been a few that have been stuck in gay scandals recently.

Have you seen his record? What exactly has he done while being a senator? Has he helped anyone? Done anything positive? Just curious. I mean sure it's great to listen to him, and he can speak inspirationally, but does he have anything to back up his statements? I guess we'll find out when/if he wins.

Erm... He's done quite a lot actually as Senator of Illinois.

He's provided health care, especially for the children.

He's helped in cleaning up the ghettos and slum areas of Illinois.

For years he has donated his time to poor people. Well until the fall of the real estate market.

On top of that he's defended people who couldn't get jobs due to their felonies for goodness sake.

Did you know that Republicans all over the country respect Obama? They find him very conservative and caring for the people.

These are just a few things of many you can find in his book.

Anyone wanting to kill this man or hate him for whatever reason they have, is a moron.

As stated, I'm just curious. I haven't looked into him or his record personally (though I should).

Hillary should just concede now that Barack has won 10 contests in a row. The longer she fights the more embarrasing it will be for her when she continues to get more and more negative the farther and farther behind she falls. She should just withdraw and endorse Obama and reunite the party as fast as possible. I think that Obama will still beat McCain easily even if Hillary drags things out but come next year, Obama and the democrats in general, don't want a divided party when he's trying to fix the mess that Bush has left him. It's one thing to have to fight the republicans on issues but it's another thing to fight your own party on issues and if Hillary keeps dividing the party then that may just happen.

The problem is.. this stupid c**t is using Private Investigators and the F.B.I. to investigate Barack's supporters, so she can use that against him. So no, she's not gonna stop.. she's a piece of shit, fake ass, white devil.

Haha, I think you called it Jeremy. Everything's looking good so far. For the most part I've heard that it's basically coming down to Barack Obama and John McCain. And it looks like Barack is winning.

I'm gonna take lots of drugs and alcohol and O.D. if this shit happens.

Why?

P.S. The third one is my favorite.
P.P.S. If you don't like Senator McCain, I apologize. Neither do I.

Dude, I'm so much smarter than you.

In either case, care to actually defend the republican candidate? I mean, this is a debate thread.
