Canada is a cold and snowy place, much like my Motherland.

Canada = a pretty decent country, even if they do say "Eh" too much. Montreal and Toronto are quite possibly two of the best places I've ever been to.

QUOTE(innoc3nt619 @ Jun 6 2004, 4:22 PM)
canada = hockey = stupid

K I think I'm gonna hurt you now

Hockey is not only the greatest sport evar, it's also something that has been the pride and joy for Canadians everywhere since it was invented. It's trophy is the epitome of all sports trophies; it is beautiful, historic, and it's one of the hardest prizes to be won (mind you it's not the original Stanley Cup, but it has all the same meaning). Hockey brings people together -- professionally or not -- and if you're in Canada you basically live and breathe hockey. Can you imagine what it would be like to grow up in Canada playing hockey with your buddies at any chance, and then growing up, being drafted into the NHL and winning the Cup? There is no other feeling to describe it.

I do believe the game of hockey brings out more emotion on a regular basis than any other sport, and that in itself is worthy of being noted.

I'm not saying that it's not special when Americans, Europeans etc get a shot at the Cup, but nothing beats the dreams that you have to win the Cup as a Canadian.

What you just said is more indication that hockey shouldn't be focused in the States. I mean, I know there are Canadians who hate hockey and Americans who love it but Gary Bettman is ruining the game for Canadians who love the game more than anybody. It's all about money for him and the last thing he would like to see is an all-Canadian final. Why? He wouldn't make money, because people in the States could care less about hockey if it was 2 Canadian teams battling it out, while Canadians would watch the sport no matter what.

Is that a bad thing?

I like Canada for sitting around and doing nothing. They don't get themselves hated by the rest of the world. They don't act like the world police.

All in all, I like Canada, very much so. They seem like a peaceful nation, and that's way cool.

I love Canada. People respect you, the healthcare is great, everyone is EXTREMELY nice to you (even strangers), and it's a very, very safe country.

I've only lived here for three years, and I love it.

I loooove love Canada. Seriously. I've been all the way across Canada, to every single providence except for the Yukon and Northwestern Territory, because there's like nothing there. Literally.

I really like it though. I would love to live either in Toronto, or the Canadian side of Niagra Falls. Its so much different than it is here in Florida. And I wouldnt have to worry about politics, because I know nothing about theirs. biggrin.gif

Eh.

Stuff costs more over there? Last time I checked it didnt. You must mean prices... but because of the exchange rate, its no more expensive than the US, if not cheaper. Last time I went, about 3 years ago, it was kinda like everything was on sale, for me. For most things, it was like 20% off because the exchange rate. :D

Lol.

in my politics class, we have a convention which says 'when in doubt, blame the candians'. they are currentl being held responsible for the disappearance of the stapler.

i dont really remember where it came from.

so, for me, canada = the root of all evil.
