i believe there is a topic about this maybe somewhere...
i don't hate them... hate is a strong word. i do not agree with their sense of style and taste and use of time (shopping ever minute). I don't like their approach to everything and their lifestyle and personality. |

Most prep people are ridiculous from where I live.
Especially prep girls, my god, they got attitude problems, shallow, complete-major-drama-whore, excessive uncontrolled laughs, and etc. For guys, there are numerous reasons: guys keep pulling up their pants, pants up to their dick, long shirt that looks like skirt, rude to non-prep, and etc. Their converstation tone is bothersome. This is from my experiences. |

When I was in 8th grade everyone was talking about how this girl named Stephanie sat down and flashed everyone her goods because she wasn't wearing underwear under her skirt. There was also a girl last year who had sex with 5 guys during homecoming (she was a sophmore) and the boys tapped it and posted it on the internet... they ended up getting in trouble be she was a minor. There also the stereotype of them not being very nice people, which is very true. There are preps at my school will talk to you, but for the most part they will judge you by the way you look and if you're not wearing expensive clothes they won't talk to you. |

...if people hate preps, do you think it's more of their issue/problem why they do? I mean, one can't just hate preps for something like they're sluts.

well, in our city we call everybody who wears hollister/a&e "preps."
which is basically.. uhh.. EVERYBODY. i have hollister shirts, so when i wear it to school, i am then a prep. T_T but the normally.. the typical prep stereotype you hear in movies, shows, books, i don't know what they call them here. o.o just whores i guess. i guess there are some preps here.. discluding what our city labels them as (hollister whores). I hate them because.. they date a lot.. I don't know why but the hatred is probably out of some jealous mixed in with some bothersome feelings. I just find it annoying when 12 year olds date 12 year olds. I'm 13 though.. so blah, whatever. It's just that last year was the time that it was annoying. Oh, and they come to school to talk and gossip and talk about clothes. I hear their conversations loud and clear. They don't even care about education, I swear. They're the ones who always talks in class and gets yelled at by the teacher. it's a daily routine. T_T; It not only disturbs the teacher, but me also, since I don't want to hear yelling in the morning. |

Stop with all of the prep stuff! People in other stereotypes like "gangsters" or punks or whatever the hell you want to say, could JUST AS EASILY be stupid or shallow. It's not based upon their stereotype, it's based on their personality. They're a stupid person, not a stupid prep.

^ agreed. Although if what was said about preps are true.
I think I have one of those things in two of my classes.. Some chick that spends her periods talking to friends, writes letters to who knows what, wears thin tight clothing when it's freezing cold, make up and color coordinated, her purse IS her backpack, 0 effort to pass a class, ditches school usually for whatever reason, makes not so bright responses. I'm forced to work with this chick for a school project.. ^That's a prep right? I don't exactly hate her for being her, I just think she's a waste. A waste as in a waste of a human being.

This isn't only for ugly people. We should do the same when it come sto preps/emos etc.. It's just the outside. It's only the way sb dresses. You just have to get to know them better before u can come to a conclusion. You'll be surprised to see how nice people can be. |
