I am 16 years old and I will be 17 in a few months.....I haven't had my period yet and i was wondering if there is anyone else that hasn't had there's yet and they are 16 or older. I sort of feel alone because all of my friends have already had there's and they are all younger than me. I can't talk to my mom about it eather because we don't really get along to well and she kind of makes me uncomforetable when I try to talk to her about that sort of thing. Well please tell me if you older with no period and have advice for me....thanks!

Well, you should be glad because you are not experiencing cramps, leaks, etc. when others have their periods younger.

However, you should tell your mom (even if you both don't get along) so that she will bring you to a gynecologist to check why you haven't had it yet.

Ditto. Normally if you don't get them by the age of 16 you should go to a gynecologist.

You should probably see a doctor, but it's probably not that serious. If you don't get it by the time you're 18 then there could be a problem.

There are plenty of people who haven't gotten their periods until an older age. I hope that you still go to the doctor for your yearly checkup. And if you do then they know what you haven't had it yet. Eventually they will check to make sure that everything's okay.

see a doctor. the same thing is going on with me and they don't exactly know what it is. It could be Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. They'll probably put you on the pill and another medication and it should arrive. The problem with me is when i'm off the pill, my period doesn't come.

Many facts about your period:

And believe me you extremely lucky to not have your period yet. I don't think you should feel left out from your friends just because you haven't had your period. You should be proud that your different and once you have your period your not going to enjoy it I have to admit.

No matter how bad it can get when you have it, see a doctor, like all suggested. 'Cause your age is pretty late. You need to see what's up.

I don't think it's serious. Maybe you're just a late bloomer.

There's girls out there who are nearly flat chested at the age of 17, but there's nothing wrong with the girl. Just gotta wait.

But, you might want to check with the doctor to make sure. It's the smarest thing to do.

And I sorta of agree with you being lucky with not having a period yet. But at the same time, once you get it, yours won't stop until your older than most girls. But that'll be when we're all old so don't worry about it.

I know how you feel. All my friends got theirs young and i lied and told them i had it for the longest time so they wouldn't make fun of me. I still got mine when i was 13. a check up would probably be a good idea _smile.gif
