Ok, so my application for Cambridge University was rejected a couple of days ago. Well, actually, that's not strictly true, but I wasn't on the initial acceptance list, and so my chances of getting in have declined steeply, and essentially, I felt rejected.
So, naturally, I sulked all day. Then, I threw my iPod out of temper, and it landed in a thorn bush, so i had to spend 30 minutes crawling through extremely dense thorn bushes, and then a further ten minutes extracting a thorny twig from ym hair, where it had become tangled. which made my mood complete. Basically, I don't handle rejection well. So. How do you handle rejection? When did you last get rejected from something you really wanted? |

I handle rejection pretty well, but if it's something like I really wanted and couldn't have it again. I would throw tantrums and be angry person for like a day, it doesn't take me a long time to calm down. As for the the other question the last time I got rejected was when I tried to ruen in my application and they said they didn't receive it when I turned it in a week before deadline. Pissed me off lol.

At this point in my life, I handle rejecting pretty well. That goes for personal relationships, job opportunities, credit applications (LOL) to missing a bus.
I figure something doesn't work out, fine. I might be better suited elsewhere anyway. |

Depends on the situation, I guess. Usually, I feel terrible and cannot stop thinking about it. I seclude myself. Even after some time passes, it's still on my mind because I often tend to mull things over. Makes things worse but eventually (try 5 years), I get over it.

It depends on what it is. If it's something that I've worked hard for and I know I'm qualified for and someone else is put above me it naturally doesn't make me happy. I don't run them over with my car though, or anything like that. I tend to keep my emotions inside.

Depends on the severity of the situation. If it's something nominal, I just brush it away; however, if it is something bigger, most likely, I'd end up punching a wall and going for late night drives.

Aww, James.
![]() I handle rejection pretty well, I guess. I get over something (big or small) in a few days. I just have a frown on my face and an occasional screaming into pillow. |

No, I definitely do not handle rejection well.
I've been rejected by a band once, ha, that was kind of a joke anyway, though I still took it hard. & Of course, I've been rejected by people. Live & learn. |

It depends on the rejection. I'm used to not getting certain parts and stuff, it's hard not to be. But when it becomes personal (like not being allowed to dance in an audition because she didn't like how I looked) then I get upset. Not there though, always at home.

Usually if I'm given a good reason why I am rejected, I understand and move on.

Mm, when I got deferred, I hit the desk really hard, yelled goddammit and then cried for half an hour. I spent the next few hours in a really shitty mood, but then I went to a party and got over it.
Often, I do take things pretty hard, but I don't really stay angry at things very long. Emotion comes in bursts. |

I make layouts
![]() Yeah, I know. Weird way of acting ![]() But it helps me. When I get rejected, I'm usually seriously quiet and I'm almost possessed by my anger and sadness. |
