I searched, and I'm pretty sure there aren't any topics like this.

Okay so I used to have this really stable group of friends, four best friends. But one day me and one of the girls in the group just stopped being friends. Then it became a game of chosing sides, I guess (how dumb is that?). They all lived really close to eachother so they all hung out all the time and i was kinda just left, groupless. Well anyways, I started out this year making more friends and such, and I like being able to hang out with a lot of different people, but sometimes I just miss the security of one group of friends, and always knowing that I have something to do or someone to talk to

I just want to have a group of friends that I can really relate to, that I can really get along with, but I'm not really sure how to go about doing that..

Any ideas?

Be emo. You'll find an emo group around school. Dress in all black, no wait. Dress like Brie, if Brie is still around.

Be there for everyone of your friends.
When one of them has a big problem, help them through it.
They will see how good of a friend you are.
When you need help, they'll be there for you.
Thus, making BEST friends, making your own choice group of friends.

& don't worry ... Someone is ALWAYS having a problem, big or small.

Just concentrate on building trust, and strengthening your new freindships. Then when you have get togethers, invite your freinds from all different groups....and bring a bunch of different people together. By introducing all your freinds to eachother, different groups of your friends (including you) will most likely just form on their own.

Thats how it seems to work for me, freindships...especially the big groups...are usually based on trust. If you have lots of trust in someone, and they have lots of trust in you...you'll most likely end up being best friends.

Im not sure if that all tied together very well, but I think it makes sense enough.

I don't think this is something that you have to try hard at. Just be friendly and be yourself around people that you like and see how things go =) That's how a person usually makes friends, yeah? Just don't think about your old group of friends and dwell on the fact that they don't really talk to you anymore. It's their loss.

Just to find people that you can relate to more and try to get to know them better. Not everyone that is your "friend" is going to be there for you in the long run. You should be fine.
