I was just searching the forums for old new year resolution topics because I wanted to look back on my new year resolutions for 2006 and previous years to see how well I stuck to them. Unfortunately, I didn't post in these threads but perhaps some of you did and would find it interesting to look back on your responses.

This is a good opportunity to reflect on personal growth and accomplishment. ![]() |

I usually don't do the whole resolution thing, because I never follow through and it ends up being like some type of psychological masochism. ![]() -Lose about 40 pounds. yes. 40. I'm not a fat fat person, but damn, I used to weigh around 105 just 5 years ago. -Get more involved in my son's academics. I'm in a tricky situation, considering my son's autism and that he's 6 and has been only talking for about a year and half. He's such an interesting and incredibly intelligent boy though. I think if I work with him more (with math and reading particularly), it would do wonders for him in school. -To learn something new everyday. I hate the idea of one's personal growth becoming stagnant, especially it you are not in school. Most important, this has been one of the roughest years for me emotionally. I'd like to move on from the past, enjoy the present and have hope for the future. Good grief I'm long winded. -Didn't lose 40 pounds, but did lose at least 20. -Bah, I really didn't do anything more this year. I have started reading with him more though now (I've discovered he LOVES ISpy books), so at least that's a start. -Really dropped the ball on this one as well. I remember when I was writing that list, I was doing a new Photoshop tutorial everyday. I haven't done one since the summer when Kristina started posting her icon tutorials. :( I have vastly improved on the last though. Man, last December was horrible. I really appreciate who I am now and I do not let others get to me as much as they used to. They're insignificant in the long haul. What matters is that my son and I have a beautiful, caring and amazing relationship. As such, I'm far from failure. This year, bleh, I'm going to try to quit smoking (again, hee). I'm going to continue eating well and becoming healthier. I shall keep an organized room. LOL Not going to take things so seriously. AM going to keep playing my MMORPG (DAMMIT) and those who don't like it can kiss my grits. OH, one more thing: I will wear pink at least once. |

^I did the same thing about Kristina's tutorials.
![]() Mmm, I didn't post in those threads either, but I remember my resolutions were: 1. No soda! 2. Keep a clean room. 3. Don't procrastinate as much. 4. Be kinder. Yeah, really simple ones, but I've always made resolutions and I've never stuck to them, so I decided to take it easy for 2006 and see how I'd do. 1. YESS! I kept this one, tyvm. I haven't had a sip since October '04. 2. ![]() 3. This one's even worse then number two. 4. This one is arguable. I know right now I'm a lot more sensitive to the needs of others, but it wasn't so much a concious decision to do it, it just sort of happened. Aaaand I have yet to make a new set of resolutions, but I know I'm definitely continuing number one. |

I never do. I sometimes try with loads of determination though. But now I doubt that I'll even make New Year's resolutions for '07. If I feel the need to change my ways for sure, I'll make one then. Not just at the beginning of a new year.

I think last year mine was to drop 10 pounds. Uhm... I gained about 4, then lost 6. Not quite 10, but whatever.
My 2007 resolution - to make myself happy before others. |

I didn't post here in 2005, and I don't remember if I kept my 2006 ones. I think I kept some of them, though. At any rate I'm a better person than I was a year ago.
