if you use photoshop, try this, and just turn your image to grayscale if it isn't already:

Thats not what I am asking, that only make the image glows =S. I am asking how to darken an image in black and white like I shown in my example. Thanks tho:)

(That one. He turned a color to black and white, but it came out dark too. so try to follow that). You can also try darkening the photo before your turn it to black and white. Or put a black layer over the image and play around with the blending options. |

make it grayscale and then change the levels.
if you use photoshop it should all be under image > adjustments |

you can also adjust the brightness/contrast to get it darker

Could always try duplicating the layer and using the multiply blend mode. (might have to play with the opacity a bit)
