interesting. i just googled 'milk bags' which sounds really odd.

in Philippines, street venders sell soda in bags also, w/ straws. well not those kind of bags, the small ones that can hold 1 can of soda. it's pretty fun drinking out of it.

I remember coming upon someone's LJ entry about how milk comes in bags in Canada. People were so amused.

You can buy a milk pitcher so the milk bag fits snugly into it. Milk also comes in paper cartons but rarely in those gallon jugs. Bags are definitely more common.

Does anyone want me to take a picture of it? laugh.gif

At my old elementatry school (which, yes, was in the usa), milk also came in bags. It was fun poking the straw into the bags.

No, you cut a little hole at the corner, and you use the pitcher to pour it.

Are you on my LJ friends list? If so, I'm part of a community for Five Iron Frenzy fans, and they have a song called "Oh, Canada" - a line says, "We all think it's kind of a drag that you have to go there to get milk in a bag." So someone posted pictures for us so we'd have a reference. XD

But yeah, I think I linked to the post because I thought it was funny. I would never have known about the "milk in a bag" thing if it wasn't for that song.

What? Thats crazy. Everytime I've been in Canada on vacation and bought a gallon of milk in a grocery store, they've been in plastic jugs like they have here in the states.

Do they do that everywhere in Canada?

Same in California, well it happened when I was in elementary school. I thought it because our school was poor or something. Haha, but yeah I didn't like it, reminded me of a IV bag at a hospital, and it made me not want to drink milk EVEN MORE..haha it was more disgiusting.
