Do you get offended if someone calls you a racial slur like "ch***" even if your not chinese but your still of asian descent, no matter what nationality?

things like that don`t bother me personally [idk about others], but i feel bad for the person using them`s ignorance.

Uhh .. spic = hispanics?

aren't mexicans and puerto ricans hispanics? so i'm sure one of either nationality WOULD get offended .. but turning it back ..

i've heard people calling non-chinese asians ch**** (koreans, vietnamese, and japanese people), when they're not chinese .. cuz that word is usually targeted to chinese people .. so I don't know why they would get offended ..

Everyone and their existence offends me. Their lawns offend me, and so do their religions (or lack thereof), and the way the walk, too. Now add their race to the list.

What a happy world I live in.

Anyway, if some guy calls me a "chink", I'd look at him like the idiot he is, smile (because I pity him), and walk in the opposite direction.

Hell yeah I do, I think anyone would get offended if a racial comment was about them. But the weird thing is that we all do it to each other or to other races...go figure.

Definitely, because no matter what it's disrespect to you, your family, and your culture as a whole. They're too ignorant to know what you really are, so they'll just assume to call you whatever. It's without a doubt trying to call you out. Don't disrespect me, if you got something to say, say it to my face. I got kicked out of school for fighting too much because of this and I don't regret it. I'll defend who I am and any asian people who can't defend themselves anyday.

I am incredibly offended by racial slurs. I've been called both a n***** and a s***(even though I'm not hispanic). My mother is African American and Native American, and my dad is Caucasian, but a lot of people think that I'm of hispanic descent.

The point I'm struggling to get to is that racism is disgusting and that racial slurs are meant to be offensive. So I guess they're serving their purpose.

I thought 'spic' was specifically for Mexicans.. blink.gif

Well, I'm Italian, so I don't really know of any racial slurs people could call me, but if they did, I wouldn't be offended, cause most of the time when my friends call me Mussolini I know they're joking.

If someone was serious, I'd probably get more annoyed than offended, if anything.

I actually get kind of annoyed with the people who are like, "Uhh, she's not Chinese, she's Thai." I mean, you can't always expect people to know EXACTLY what you are..to many, there aren't very distinct differences that you can see right off the bat between people of various Asian countries..

hispanics are of Spaniard descent.
Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, etc have no relation to the word Hispanic.

i being born in san juan was forced to learn the "proper spanish"
