what new features do you want to see in createblog?

hey guys,

its been a year since any major updates on cb. if you have any ideas or new features you want to see on createblog, let me know. i will be working on a new version and hopefully will launch it by the end of this year.

some things that WILL definitely happen are:

-personal subdomains (ie, micron.createblog.com) will be my cb profile page with all my submissions / favs + member comments.
-a more robust stats engine (multiple daily + monthly + yearly logs will be supported).
-an overhaul on the front page (lets make it more exciting shall we?)



so what else? what do you want to see on createblog?

Oh, and maybe bringing back the cB calender. That thing was helpful, especially for birthdays.

neat idea.

ill be re-using some of the code from xeloo for the profile (subdomain), and will resemble something ilke deviantart's profile. maybe ill go further and re-use the blog code so that micron.createblog.com/blog will be my blog. that or ill just use the invisionboard's blog software.

The blog would be absolutely fabulous.

OH and yes, if possible the cB calender would be great. Not only for birthdays, but for contests, events, etc.

Not to beat a dead horse that's already been beat to a bloody pulp, but folks are really aching for a return of the Arcade.

Is it possible to have a link to Live Chat that would link to a page (I know, link to links, eww) that could have different types of chatting connections, like IRC or MSN? Also, since so many people here Skpe would it be possible to have a cB Skype room? (If there isn't something like that already).

You've mentioned an overhaul on the front page, would that include a new cB Banner? I think folks gave up on this since the last response in CB frontpage banner, be featured! was back in August.

If it's possible, I think some fancy AJAX would make this site a little more attractive. I normally hate the whole Web 2.0 movement, but in this case, it seems appropriate.

idk i don`t really have any suggestions. i <3 cb how it is but more can always be added.

D'ya know I went and got myself so addicted to ZooKeeper that I had to go and buy the stupid game for my DS 'cause I missed it so much? XD Silly story that just means this girl would much appreciate the arcade back.

AH This profile thing sound splendiferous. Yeah. Nothing much else in particular from me.

I love the subdomain thing & the blogging idea!

I kinda like the simplicity of cB right now, but I do agree that the front page should be fancier. I have dial-up so I like how cB loads really fast.

Maybe music? Or playlists? It could show up on the user's profile page. I've noticed alot of people at cB that are into very different types of music but they're all good in their own way.

& maybe you could have a place on the profile page or something for clubs that the user is in? That way, people wouldn't have to put club banners and such in their sigs?

Hey I like that idea too.


And as the others said, it would be awesome to have all the games in the arcade back.

I want to know more on how the subdomain thing would work...

when things like graphics & layouts get rejected, [but i guess this depends on how many there are to look through], there could be some sort of tips/constructive criticism as to why it didn`t get accepted.

^ I believe most mods fill in the part where there give a reason why your submission was rejected, but sometimes you need to consider that they go through a huge submission queue everyday (like hundreds of layouts/graphics etc.) and it's hard to fill in specific reasons for everyone. I hope you understand. You can always PM back nicely with a link to your submission for rejection reasons.

yeah, i understand that about too many submissions. ;/ well there must be some way. but yeah, i wasn`t sure if i would get a reply if i replied to a rejection.

I lovelove the subdomain idea.
But let's have some more information on that..
Do you have to apply for it, is it open for all cb users, should it be for cb users that are active, etc.

The blog idea does seem good. But subdomain AND blogs would be a little much..

The arcade sounds great.Woohooo.
