As far as I can tell, this exact question hasn't been asked. I looked around a bit and couldn't find an answer, but if I missed it, just point me in the right direction!
I use the Stat Counter on my Blogger blog and recently upgraded to Blogger Beta. I also upgraded the template to the Beta template/layout. This seems to be where I encountered a problem. I copy and pasted the original code that I had in my earlier template into the updated one. This results in an error: 'XML error message: The reference to entity "r" must end with the ';' delimiter.' To fix it, I put a ";" after the r (as shown in red): QUOTE <!-- start tracking code provided by createblog.com --> <a href="http://www.createblog.com/stats/index.php?id=29507"><img id="cb_tracker" alt="Blog tracker" border="0" src="http://www.createblog.com/stats/log.php" /></a> <script type="text/javascript"> if (cb_stat != true) { var refer = document.referrer; var cb_stat = true; document.images["cb_tracker"].src = "http://www.createblog.com/stats/log.php?id=29507&r;=" + refer; } </script> <style type="text/css">#cb_tracker { visibility:hidden; height:1px; width:1px; }</style> <!-- end tracking code provided by createblog.com --> I didn't know if it would work, but Blogger accepted that. And the tracker still tracks. It stills tracks destination page, ISP location, IP address, and time of visit. The only thing is, since I upgraded it doesn't track referral page and that (along with destination page) is what is most useful to me. Since that time, every single hit says 'direct hit,' though I doubt they really are direct hits. I know it seems nitpicky, but, as I said, that's the information that I'm actually tracking (rather than ISP addresses, etc). Is any one else having this problem or did I do something wrong to cause this? Thanks for any help! |

Aww, come on.. why will no one help me?!
Alternatively, if anyone can recommend another free invisible website tracker, I'd appreciate that, too. |

Thanks anyway! I'm figuring it's the new version of Blogger (or the template/layout, actually - you have to upgrade that separately once you've upgraded your account) that is not compatible now.. maybe it doesn't allow additional javascript now? I had a pointless widget in the side bar which didn't work correctly either when I made the change, but I didn't care about that as much. Thanks for the response!
