Here again I stand beside a lake named Vasfree,
This place is where I've set my sadness free.
The bitter memories you left keep tearing at me,
That is why I am here to set myself free.

You made me believe that miracles could happen,
That a person with a hard heart could easily soften.
You said, "Trials and tribulations won't be a burden,
As long as both our hearts are not broken."

I thought I'd found the perfect person in life,
Because you appeared every time I closed my eyes.
Your loving habit was all I could see,
Don't change your personality; just let it be.

But then the world is changing, and so are you,
I used to believe in miracles, because of you.
Trials and tribulations are the two things we can't get through,
This is because there was never a me and you.

Your loving nature is now fading away,
You are getting meaner day by day.
What I can only see now are your selfish ways,
"The 'perfect person' in my heart has gone away!"

This was written by Iannick Donovan Li of Ipoh. I thought it was a lovely play of that Inisfree poem by Yeats.
