Something I've wondered about - why does Xanga sometimes add a thin white border (on the bottom and on the right side) of an image sometimes, after you post it?
Usually when you add a pic from your computer. It's two very thin white lines. |

... Do you have an example?
I'm thinking it's probably one of the little glitchy things about their system, but I could be wrong. |

I believe it's a glitch, too.
Here's an example of the white lines. They're across the bottom and right side and don't appear in the original.

Could you post your layout code? There might be something in there that's causing the problem.

In the codes of your HTML, make sure that there's no border in the image code (ie. <img src=" URL " border="1"> But if it's not like that, then I guess it's just a glitch, like they said.

Could you post your layout code? There might be something in there that's causing the problem. For that example, here's the code - CODE <p align='center'><embed src='http://files.poqbum.com/Files/Gens/countdown/countdown/cndplayer.swf?skinn= http://files.poqbum.com/Files/Gens/countdown/countdown/skin3.swf&bg_c=8110330&bg_mc= 1948386&tcm=FFFFFF&tcu=fffffb&msg=TREASURE%20ISLAND&tyear=2007&tmonth=7&tday= 10&thours=11&tminutes=40&tseconds=0' quality='high' width='310' height='180' name='cndplayer'></embed><br><a href='http://www.poqbum.com/' target='_blank'></a></p> No mention of a border. It's not a huge deal, but I was curious why it happens. Thanks for everyone's help. |

that's a flash object, not an image. From what I can see, you didn't make it yourself, so there could be a couple of ways the border came in. You can try messing around with the width and height; depending on the flash file, it may or may not work. adding a border="0" could also work.
Also, the standard/proper way to do flash objects is using an <object> tag and then an <embed> tag; look online for the whole code. Might help, too, but I'm not sure. if all else fails, there's some css to cut off the sides of elements using clip-right or somethign like that; don't know if it works well with flash, though. |
