If you liked a guy, but your friends didn't approve of him. What would you do?

Eh, depends on why they disapprove of him..

I would only stop liking him if he treats my friends badly (or something similar to that).
If it's for some stupid reason (like they think that he's not hot or something superficial), I wouldn't really listen to my friends.

my friends are incredibly wise when it comes to guys being bad.
only problem is,
every guy I pick starts out being cool, everyone likes him...
but ends up being a retard at relationships.

so I'd listen to them,
even thought they didn't listen to me
(3 of them dated the same guy even though he cheated on all three)
*rolls eyes.

Well...none of that happened to me =S. Guys that I've liked are usually friends/classmates that we all know...but if they did I'd wonder why, ask them about it. If it's some stupid excuse, I wouldn't care much...but if it's for a much serious reason, then I'll maybe re-evaluate it.

I would take a second look at him and try to see the reasons my friends didn't like him, but if I thought they were overreacting I would date him anyway. If I get hurt, it's my fault.

i usually ask why they don't like him and if it's a stupid excuse, go right ahead and get to know him better. like someone said, if i get hurt it's my own fault.

ask them why they disapprove of him and then listen to thier reasons, take a second look at the guy, if it makes sense then i'll leave him, if not and they are being paranoid then let them get to know him and prove them wrong, but if they are right and i stayed with the guy and i do get hurt i know its my fault.
it's happened before, some approved and others disapproved, with a few of the guys i've been with and well the ones they disapproved...most of them i ended up not going out with anymore because of other reasons even before they told me they disapproved.

They have their opinion, I have mine.

They should tell you why and then support you after you hear their reason.

Well I guess I'd go with my own instinct, but if my friends had a really relevant and influential reason why I shouldn't like the guy, then I'll listen to them.

Some of my friends are worth listening to, so if they have something negative to say about a guy I like (besides teasing and whatnot), i usually take it into consideration. A lot of times they can see things about the dude that i don't.

I don't give a crap about it, actually. Sometimes, I regret it though since it always turns out ugly.

Usually my friends are pretty right about the guys I'd date.
I would def listen to them, take what they have to say and think about it.
However, the bottom line, it's my choice and my relationship.
But I know they are looking out for me, so I trust them.

Umm, I'll find out why they don't like him & maybe arrange a mini get-to-know-eachother party. I don't know. It's never been a problem.

yeah it really depends alot on exactly WHAT it is they don't like about him. my friends always seem to be right about boys i like. of course, i don't listen to them & i regret it later when i find out they were right. so, take into consideration what your friends think thumbsup.gif

I wouldn't care if my friends cared what girl I go out with, as long as it's something that can be resolved and we can hang out like a big happy family.

Well, I would try to find out why they didn't like him and if it's true or if I'm just so infatuated I can't see it. Though I pride myself in being completely unaffected by romantic feelings, so. With time, they'd come to accept each other. I've not liked my friend's others but with time I was fine and even grew to be friends with them. So just time.

I would ask them why and take actions from there.

But most of the time my friends and I don't do the whole,
disapprove or approving business. If stuff happens.
Why do we have to act upon them by someone
else's personal preference anyway?

Consider their opinion, but yours is of the utmost importance.
