Anyway, I think it's just a way to express your joy for a person who has lived on earth for another year.

What a lame answer. mellow.gif

Because people need a constant reminder that slowly but surely they are aging and will one day be old and decrepit and wear diapers and wow my foot itches. -scratch,scratch- =B

What I really don't get is why people over 21 celebrate birthdays. They really don't have anything to look forward to.

So you have an excuse to party. And because it's an anniversary of sorts. We celebrate anniversaries of marriage, why not when you were born?

So you can celebrate another great year with that person in your life. Well, if they're your kids and such you can celebrate the years that you have been blessed with them. _smile.gif
