Opinions opinions opinions & answers.

Please state your opinion on whether or not you would like the winterball.
For those that weren't here for the other one, pretty much you ask someone to be your date for the winterball thats a member of createblog, then on one set date you go into a aim chat room and we make a topic in the lounge and you just talk to all the dates, then in the end you sign on to createblog and you take votes for the best couple and things like that.

Any questions feel free to ask happy.gif

If you say no, please explain what you think disadvantages would be.

To whoever chose no, why not?

I feel as though there's no need to make it a poll since having a winterball isn't really disadvantageous.

I don't know if were having a winterball, were trying to get opinions on it. I mean if you don't want to go or participate then you don't have to.

-shrugs- Just like any other contest or fun event createblog has. Its just to spark some interest in the community and such.

Anyway, what you do is you ask someone to be your date to the createblog winterball, of course you can go alone I'm sure. Theres a date set for the winterball to happen on, and on that date there will be a AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) or something else for a big chat everyone can participate in. After its over, there will be a topic in the lounge that has things such as the Best Couple, Best attitude, what ever.

Then there will be a thread saying the winners and yea thats about it I'm guessing, theres more people out there that would know more than me on this.

ROFL. I remember like I had all these dates last year but like it never even happened.

Personally, I don't think this wouldn't work out. In the past, (I believe it was the spring one?) we set up a date for one of these things and I go in the chat at that time and like.. only the regular chat people are there and it's just.. empty. mellow.gif And I missed another one because I had school. shrug.gif

I want it because I missed the one last year.

Maybe it could be more of an ongoing event instead of just a couple of hours in a chatroom, as maybe not everyone is free during that period.

Yeah, we have to set up everything before we have a topic where we can ask for dates. I like the idea of an on going thing, but then that would in result in some people being there, some not. we need to come up with a good time of day to do it. And it'll probably be in a weekend.

If everyone who has replied in this topic comes, we should have a blast! happy.gif So make sure you all come!!!

Well then we need to set it up on a good day that a lot of people can be there, I know the holidays are coming up so I guess we need to do it soon, but not to soon, perhaps when everyone is starting to get out for school?

^If it's a 3-day thing, then people would show little by little.

I say we make it around December 15-20 or something; most kids would be out by then, and around 6:00 Pacific time, which would be 9:00 eastern time. It would be a good time, since nobody's eating dinner or asleep. Maybe a little earlier or later, I dunno. Just a suggestion :]

Okay, well I don't think we should make it for 5 days, maybe over a weekend or something or right before new years when people are starting to come back home from Christmas vacation.

no one goes back to school til Jan 2nd.

Time wise, yes its a little hard but having it at like 6 pacific time and then 9 eastern time sounds like good times, most people stay on pretty late anyway.

Also I suppose were making a topic to comfirm dates and such that you'll be taking or asking someone to the winterball? or does no one really like this idea.

What a cute idea! I wasn't around much last year, so this'll be interesting to attend.

And I think the 29th or 30th sounds a lot better for people's schedules, since people all over will definitely be on winter break.

We could look up for a private teen chat room. I used to do that all the time with my schoolfriends when we didn't have AIM. I forgot what the site was called, but it was free & you didn't have to sign up for anything to create a room with the username and password of your choice. The people entering would have to know the username & password to get in.

^ Sounds great! Try and find that for us. In the mean time, we'll probably use AIM. Anyone can always just download it and delete it later. Or you could download an All-in-one messenger like Trillian that combines AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ and all those into one. happy.gif

I don't know, I guess looking at the pace of cB at the moment, I'd say no.

^So then therefore it would be a problem, because you can't exactly be on msn and somehow be on aim too if you don't even have it.

Its not really hard at all to just download aim, its extremely simple, and its only for a night.

Because some of us don't have AIM or MSN, or another big instant messenger, I took up the time to look up that site I was talking about earlier.

http://teenchat.com/private_rooms.psp

You don't have to sign up or anything. All we have to do is create a password & we're in. We don't even have to make a room! Just a password & we'll end up in the same room. It's a great place, and has flood control so that the chat won't be too overcrowded with IMs and stuff.

Take a look, Staff members, and see if you like the concept.

This saturday, I don't know who has the same types of schedules as me and Brenden or atleast me but I have finals next week before the semester change. So therefore I probably won't have time. Perhaps the saturday after next because the week after next I don't school at all because I don't have any of the types of final exams in that week.

Friday the 12th
Saturday the 13th?
