Does anybody know a free spyware/adware remover?
I used to have one way back, but I deleted it and I don't remember the name. I only found trials. I have 1000 of those nasty things.

Windows Defender works well. (It's still a beta though.)

And the Microsoft Malware Remover too.

And, of course, these topics would help:

Definitely Ad-Aware.
Download Hijackthis; it might help detect some icky spyware/adware programs on your computer. You can post your log into one of those automatic reviewers; sometimes you'll find something.

Here's a website with How-To tips on removing different spyware programs.
http://www.pchell.com/support/spyware.shtml

And here's one with hundreds of different types of adware/spyware - and how to get rid of certain ones. Scroll down to Adoko's Spyware Resource.

Thanks for the help, but I bought a program instead. :(
I got Spyware Doctor, but I also have McAfee now too.
McAfee won't install if I have Spyware Doctor, so how do I install McAfee? Safe mode?

Which one is best to remove the one at the taskbar menu? My friend tried using AVG but he said it doesn't work. Thank you!

I really don't like McAfee. ermm.gif
It's really incompatible with most anything else you're going to use.
Heck, you'll probably be better off with those other free programs.

^ I think they mean the spyware that pops up on the start menu that says something like "Your computer is infected! You must download this free program!" and it's actually more spyware. It looks like it is a Windows Warning bubble, but it isn't.

ohmy.gif Spyware Doctor is false. It actually puts spyware on your computer to make you buy it in order to clean them! I fell for that stupid program too. Delete it!

^ Yeah what he said, the taskbar bubble thing. Also when you open up Internet Explorer the page doesn't take you to the home page and this pop up says that you need to dload the "program". So yeah..which remover is good eh? Thank you again!
