But then i said "what if marijuana was legal, wouldnt that make the economy better"..she replied "well yes sal, it would."..I think It should be legalized, no not because i do it because i don't , so the economy rises, what do you guys think? shifty.gif

yes it does help the economy, it's the leading cash crop in oregon and cali (the only two states that matter), and it generates billions of untaxed dollars a year. If the US regulated growth and used it to benefit, it would be good. Marijuana doesn't impair you any more than alchohol does, and you can't die from an overdose.

it will just make more money to the growers and it will kill you, just like cigars and cigs, people who do drugs are just pot heads! laugh.gif

sorry that's really offensive to me, because my boyfriend has smoked pot before. did you know that caffiene is a drug? does that mean that since someone drinks coffee, or mountain dew, or even eats a bar of chocolate, they have no self worth because they do drugs? you can't just say people are potheads because they smoke pot, lots of my friends do (although I don't) and while I don't agree with it, I still value them as people

Marijuana is already legal in Holland.lol. and in a way it helps..people love doing drugs for the kick of it being illegal..makes them feel somehow powerful..cuz they're breaking the law and everything..a lot of people want what they can't have..that's why people invest in drug trafficking and stuff..

marijuana is supposed to be at the same level of smoking and alcohol..sometimes even less because you don't get addicted to it..that's the reason why Holland made it legal.

i guess that's good that it's legal becus it should be. and it`z right about that it is same thing as alcohol and other drugs...and marijuana are bad too... even tho it sometimes can cure ppls...still u can die from it and get reallliiiee addicted to it.

For one thing, the damage done from one joint is equal to about *thinks* I believe three or five cigarettes.

In my opinion, I don't mind - legalize it. If you truly want to ruin your own life by getting addicted to marijuana while it's helping the economy, go for it! thumbsup.gif

But why? If you're going to say, "It's bad for you," I'll knock that down right now because smoking, fast food, and guns are bad for you - they're not illegal. Also, we're in debt; having this boost the economy will be great, don't you agree?

Yes, it would boost up the economy...
No, because we would have drug addicts everywhere. Kids would be addicted, and people would be coughing, hacking, and dying everywhere.

it should be illegal because if it was legal it would only encourage people to do it more. Then so many kids would be junkies and the future of our country will for a large part be left to a bunch of pot heads... sorry, but I wouldn't want that. The economy is doing fine right now anyway.

Actually, in European countries, they have many drugs that are legalized, and it's not a problem. See, kids do it nowadays because it's illegal and they want to be rebels. Make this legal, and they'll have no fun doing it. Also, the economy is doing fine?! We're trillions of dollars in debt, you know.

Do you realize that almost EVERY drug problem is caused by the WAR on drugs, and not the drugs themselves?

Do you see alcohol-pushers on inner city street corners? No. Why? Because it's legal.

Do you see convenience store owners shooting at each other in turf wars? No. Why? Because it's legal.

Do you see alcohol users overdose and die? Yes, but if you do it's your own damn fault. No one mislabels alcohol like they mislabel cocaine.

Can you get easy and non-compromising treatment for cigarette and alcohol addiction? Of course.

...Only that ALREADY happens. Just not in the suburban bubble you must live in. If we legalize cocaine, it will actually STOP it being sold in schools. Do you have alcohol pushers on school campus? No.

The problem with marijuana is that the effects of its long term use isn't that well known. Some say it causes extensive brain damage, some say it doesn't.
