okk my camera.. um. yeah. i haven't used it in a while. and when i turn it on, it acts all weird. like the lenses opens up then everything freezes and closes back up. but if i take my memory card OUT, it doesn't do that. it'll work fine. but.. yeah.. it'd only hold one picture.. :S

no my memory card is not full either. and yes it is fully charged. i just charged it for a day, the batteries are fine. no i did not drop it or anything.

any idea what might be wrong?

>.> it's a digital camear. 7.2 mega pixel exilm / casio ? [dunno which one it is :P]

Have you tried turning it on while it's plugged into the computer (if it's possible)?
Definitely try to reformat the memory card (SD, right? Or is it MMC?). It might be damaged or corrupt.

Yeah, try formating the memory card. That would be the first thing I'd do.

I guess you can try turning it on without the card in and than putting it in after too.

I've tried the second method (turning it on then putting it in), and I've also tried turning it on while it's plugged into the comp, but that doesn't work.

edit: OH I think it IS the memory card ! I just inserted a new one (8MB -_-) and it worked perfectly fine. Ahhh. But since I can't turn it on with that memory card in, I can't reformat it from my camera. >.< How can I reformat it on the computer? Just delete every picture?

Do you have a card reader?
If you do, you can just plug it in, go to My Computer, right click on the icon, and select Format. (Reformat to FAT.)

If you don't have a card reader, you can use a trial of StorageTools for Pocket PC.

That doesn't work either. >< It just freezes up when I have the memory card in after I right click it, but it doesn't freeze up when the memory card isn't in. >.< Should I just get a new memory card ?

I'm pretty sure your memory card is damaged.. You can try calling the manufacturer if it's still under warranty to get it replaced, though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's a way to fix it.

You should definitely go get a new one.

Maybe you can try formatting in on a different digital camera.
