so
in first period (chorus) my teacher was trying to get me to try out for this solo
she was like "shouldnt rebecca try it?"
and i was like noooo
and she was like "rebeccas got such a cute little baby face"
and everyone was like "aw yeah :)"
but even though she meant it as a compliment
i took it badly.
because i always feel like i look younger than i am.
i was 14 the summer before last. i went on a plane (alone) to visit some friends in another state
and the flightattendant lady was like "excuse me dear, are you older or younger than 10?" and i was like "aaah im almost 15".
so anyway
back to school.
i talked to my friend about it in 2nd period
and she was like "well it's kind of true. your face and your body..." and i was like "ugh! what a thing to say...
so now im all self-concious
and i was wondering what you all thought?
HONEST opinions.
i photoed myself in a not-very-flattering way
just the way i looked at school today.
oh-
and i REALLY dont mean to be one of those people that says "im ugly" just so you can be told that you're pretty. im genuinely concerned... even though i know its a shallow thing to worry about _unsure.gif

i feel really icky about posting this...

Uhmm. You don't have a baby face... ermm.gif You don't have to have a baby face to look younger, either. ermm.gif Most people are self-conscious. Get over it.

Don't worry about it.

I gotta say I've been given the same errmmm comments.

I'm a junior yet people are still suspecting me of being a freshmen.
Some even dare to say a 7th-8th grader.

In a way it gets me mad looking younger then I am.
But even if that's true I know I rather be 42
looking 35 then the other way around. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, you have nothing to worry about. People used to say I looked young for my age, and I still get that sometimes. I'm 17 and I too think that I look younger. I'm not curvy like a lot of women and I have some baby fat XD.gif haha. See, nothing to be ashamed of. I'm not.

You shouldn't compare yourself to what other people and say and most importantly to what you think other people think of you.

And something I didn't mention earlier, but it's not a bad thing to look young. Like creamyxlicious said, I'm a junior and a lady asked me what middle school I go to, but be flattered! Around high school reunion, you'll be hotter than all the rest of them. wink.gif

Thanks, all. Yeah, I'm 15. I guessed I looked around 12 or 13, but the flightattendant "are you older or younger than 10?" comment threw me...

^^ me too! actually, usually I get 14, so i'm a little better.
Just be confident. or fake it. confidence radiates, and people will feel that rather than look at your physical appearance.

Actually I'm lying, it's more in combination. but still, don't worry about how you look. you don't look like you're 12

To tell you the truth, you look older in my eyes in my opinion. You look your about early twenties but there are some people that look kinda like you around where I live look like 15/16yr olds like you. But I understand where youre coming from, well kinda..my best friend for 10yrs has gone through all things youve been through. People think shes 15yrs old when shes really eighteen and she even had worse ones like 12yr old..and she has a body like yours..it just makes me wonder why ppl these days are thinking about ya know? but i think their eyes should be checked b/c i clearly dont see that in you.

Not to sound rude but I think if you got your eyebrows thinned and let your hair down, maybe put on a little mascara you'd look older.

hehe have confidence! You`re not "baby" lookin`

it'll make your look older than 10 years old.

what the hell is a baby face?

you just look like you've never done anything wrong in your life/have never heard of anything wrong in life, if that's what they're talking about. i don't know if you consider that good or bad.

you probably just don't look as feminine as most girls at your school. if you went to my school... i'd probably think you skipped a grade - i'm a sophomore.

if you want to get rid of the "baby" impression, then work out until confidence comes out your ears.

My mom doesn't wear makeup or anything, so I wouldn't know how to do it... Or what she would think.
It would be a little embarrassing to come home one day with makeup on or whatever and have my parents be all, "uuhh....".
Yeah.

I definitely don't work out- I can't stand excerising in a gym like that. I seriously have a chronic problem.
I do yoga at home, but that isn't really a confidence-builder, haha.

About the chaste, "never done/heard anything wrong" thing, it's probably true. I'm not one of those people who's all like "ah! I got a 98 on the test, what did you get?" and stuff- those people really annoy me. I mean I have a life, but I'm a virgin and I've never done drugs or anything...
I think I'm pretty average-ish in that...
Maybe?

It's true that I don't look very feminine. And I'd like to, but again with the whole mom-not-wearing-makeup thing. It would be really awkward...

my mom doesn't wear make-up either. how would it be embarrassing? you're growing up, you have to start doing your own thing. if make-up isn't your thing and you're not interested at all, then... don't bother.

you don't have to be in a gym to work out. i box and weightlift in the house for about two hours a day.

you seem sheltered. i'm not saying that i'm a sexpot or druggie - i'm not at all. but... just ... i don't know; i just gradually told myself to get out there, meet people, and talk with them.

but if it's not your thing, then it's not your thing.

You do sort of have a baby face, even though your body looks more matured. But that doesn't mean your face is stuck looking young. Like "Whimsical One" said, update your look. There's nothing wrong with wearing a little makeup..or doing your hair differently, in a more mature way.

cool.gif Thanks dude. :)

And yep, now that I see a picture of you -

- Gotta pluck the eyebrows, honey. Better yet, have someone style/wax them. 5 minutes of pain, weeks and weeks of beauty. While your there, get the upper lip waxed. It WILL NOT grow back much thicker if you wax them and will make a huge difference. Trust me, having Spanish and Israeli blood in me, it's a necessary evil.

- Chop the hair. I think you should go with something short and funky since it would be completely opposite of what you've got going now.

- Ditch the wire frames. Try something black and square for frames. Check out Sammi's (Disco Infiltrator) glasses for reference.
