Hi,

I have found myself continually looking at porn. I want to stop, and tell myself I won't do it anymore, but it still happens. Does anyone have any advice as to methods of stopping?

just keep yourself bussy, get a hobby that involves tedous tasks that keep your mind bussy. if you feel like look at the shit...just go do something else till its off your mind... its just a simple mind over matter trick... you can use it for almost any bad habbit.

It's normal. Of course, whether you have a problem depends on your age and how often you're looking at it. If you do it too much it effects your ability to...umm...get aroused when the time comes. So how often is "continually?"

Alright, just chill... remember when I was young, and I was addicted to porn.

Here's what you gotta do:

1. Take it slow. If you're that addicted to it, you won't be able to stop all at once.

2. Watch less and less more and more. If you watched porn 4-5 times one week... try to cut it down to 3-4 the next week and so on. Just remember, the lower the better.

3. Don't beat yourself up every time you watch the stuff. That will just make it worse. Alot of dudes watch porn, and your just one of them. I'll admit, it's not a healthy thing, but it's certainly not uncommon. You shouldn't beat yourself up over it.

4. eventually you will find yourself looking at if 1-2 times a month. Start a money jar, and put a dollar into the jar for every day that you go without watching porn. If you watch porn, go spend the money on one thing that you like to reward yourself for the time you spent beating your meat in front of the PC.

5. Eventually you will just forget about porn, and you will grow past it. You may look at it every once in a great long while, but just remember not to beat yourself up over it. Also, it's better to fight the urge than to give in.

man, that's totally awesome, that's exactly what i would have said...and yeah, it's kinda natural, but at the same time, it's lust, and God says that lusting is the same as adultery...not to sound like some sort of freaky weirdo, but you know...

Punch yourself in the face everytime you think about it. Its called "Pain Reenforcement" and the key is to cause your brain to associate porn with pain. That way, when you think about porn, you think about pain and your brain tends to avoid the thought. Try it sometime. Its how I got over drinking.
