So, I read somewhere someone had said here once that moving the ad is against myspace Terms of Agreement.

The terms actually say:

QUOTE
3. covering or obscuring the banner advertisements on your personal profile page, or any MySpace.com page via HTML/CSS or any other means;

The word "covering" according to Dictionary.com:

QUOTE
cov‧er‧ing  /ˈkʌvərɪŋ/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kuhv-er-ing] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. something laid over or wrapped around a thing, esp. for concealment, protection, or warmth.
2. Mathematics. cover (def. 50).
3. the buying of securities or commodities that one has sold short, in order to return them to the person from whom they were borrowed.

The word "obscure" according to Dictionary.com:

QUOTE
ob‧scure  /əbˈskyʊr/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[uhb-skyoor] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation adjective, -scur‧er, -scur‧est, verb, -scured, -scur‧ing, noun
–adjective
1. (of meaning) not clear or plain; ambiguous, vague, or uncertain: an obscure sentence in the contract.
2. not clear to the understanding; hard to perceive: obscure motivations.

Do you guys still think moving it would be a problem? As long as its still seen at the top of the page?

I mean, as long as its in plain view, I don't see it as being against the Terms of Agreement.

It would be nice if some of the CB staff could chime in on this.

Asking would be useless, they never respond to anything.

No one even has a code to move the ad so what difference does it make? The ad is an ad. You guys use myspace why not help them out by leaving the ad up?

If you want to hide the ad go ahead if you want to move the ad go ahead all we ask is that you don't post the codes here.

You can do what you want you know.

I'm not talking about hiding it. I've seen others who have moved it. But what I was curious about is... According to Terms of Agreement it says we can't hide it, not that we can't move it. If I were to find out how to move it, would it be looked down on by any of the CB people?

As this is the only myspace community I support, I very much so care about what you lot think.

Yea you can move the ad. You just can't hide it or cover it up with anything. I've seen others move it, I don't remember the coding to do it because many don't ask about it, If you would still like to move it then please share a myspae that has moved the ad and we can see if we can give you a code to do it.

In lamest terms, I'll help you move it, but any sign of you trying to hide it or cover it up then helping cuts off instantly.

If moving it and hiding it are two different codes then No it wouldn't go against anything here.

BUT if all you had to do is add display:none; to a code to hide it, then I don't really think we should have the code here.

^Nah, its two differnt codes I remember that. And you can just simply add a display:none; to it and hide it. That doesn't even work for the embeded stuff.
