Hm. You seem kinda young for wisdom teeth. I don't think mine have grown much. I'm only 14 though.
One of my friends got his wisdom teeth pulled when he was 18.

I don't know about the braces though.

:O I'm almost 18 and mine haven't fully come out yet!

I don't think getting getting braces while your wisdom teeth are growing would be a problem but nothing beats asking your dentist/orthodontist. :P He/she would adjust your teeth somehow if you wre to get it.

Typically, wisdom teeth come in when you're around 17-24, according to Wikipedia. But I dunno, maybe you can get them earlier? Check with your dentist I guess.

And braces-wise, I'm not sure. I know wisdom teeth can cause a lot of problems and stuff (I think they can cause other teeth to shift out of place), and some people get them extracted before getting braces, but again, check with a professional.

Wisdom teeth usually grow in at 16 or later (I think), but there are always exceptions. And since they're all the way at the back of your mouth, yes, you can get still get braces.

I agree with Robbie. i had my wisdom teeth pulled out just a few weeks ago, and i'm 18. I can't remember if i could feel my wisdom teeth growing in before when i had braces (when i was 13), so you definately have to get an Xray done, and talk to your orthadontist afterwards- they'll tell you. but i'm sure you can. Although i had to get 4 baby teeth pulled (not my wisdom teeth) before getting braces because i didnt' have enough room in my mouth, but everyone is different and your dentist and orthadontist know best.

You could be getting them early. If you are, orthodontists would probably recommend having them removed before getting braces, because if they're growing then they would interfere with the aligning of your teeth with braces. Have them do an X-ray and get a few opinions.

I'm getting braces on Friday and a few months after, the orthodontist told me they can remove all my wisdom along with four more. Taking out 8 teeth!!!! I'm going to sore as hell that day.

My wisdom teeth are coming in and Im 15, with braces. I'm not sure what they're going to do, but since they're in the back of your mouth they should be alright.

I am 16 and I have had braces although I don't have any wisdom teeth. Well, I guess it's genetic for me to not have any because no one in my family has ever had wisdom teeth before.

But back to the topic, you could be getting them early, so just go to the dentist and check it. I guess you should remove them before braces because they might screw your braces up.

I was in the same position as you, but I was 16. I went to the dentist, asking them if there's anything I could do with my wisdom teeth (all four of them were growing out and it was really bothering me). Instead I found out that I had TMJ (don't worry, you won't get it unless your teeth is majorly misaligned). So in order to fix my TMJ problem, I had to get braces even though my wisdom are growing out. If it wasn't for my TMJ, I could've had my wisdom teeth pulled out first then braces.

According to my orthodontist and dentist, it's more easier to pull out the wisdom teeth while it's still under the gum since no roots are entirely grown yet. It would be less severe, and the healing process would go a lot faster compared to having to wait till you're 18. Everyone is different, and everyone develops at a different pace. My parents didn't believe me that my wisdom teeth were growing out until my orthodontist told them.

I think as long as you dont have a tight/small mouth, and they dont think they'll interfere, you can still get braces.

But why not get them removed before getting the braces on?

Ug, isn't TMJ fun? stubborn.gif

Anyway, my brother had all his wisdom teeth taken out and then four baby teeth I think... then he got his braces on within the next month. Sure, not painless, but it still got done.
