Well, I got GIMPshop. And I love it. :D Now I can make graphics again.
![]() So this is what I have so far. What should I add to it? Or should it stay like that? I'm probably going to add text (asian blossom?), but I'm looking for a good font. original image: http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/9079/chinesegirlzd4.jpg Credits: Aethereality Gallery Flourish Brushes by seleneheart ---- 2nd edit:

The braid on the right looks a little more blurry than the other one, and it looks a little stiff.
Washing out is a good idea. |

Ok!
Hm...washed out? Do I just add a white layer and lower the opacity? Sorry, I'm new at this banner thing. (and reili, i'm making a banner but i might turn it into a layout. *shrug* i'd have to find out how to do that though.) And about the braid thing: that's part of the original image. reili, where did you get those fonts? I like the eight fifteen one. |

But Eight Fifteen is my favourite font! XD You don't wanna know how I got CK Bella. I can send it to you if you like though.
To wash out, I usually desaturate the top layer and lower it to around 40% opacity. Like so: ![]() But the white works too... It just looks more like this: ![]() BUT! Since you're making a banner, may I suggest someting more like this: ![]() Using brushes from a place like here. Kimono pattern ones. Although I suggest making the brushes black at first so you can see where you're putting them. |

Can't you just rename the file to .gbr? I think that works.
Anyways, I love it Krista - Dezhen is the best artist ever, btw. |

thanks! :D
Hm....tried that, but it didn't work. Maybe I'm not doing it right. I saved it to the disk, and it popped up on the desktop. From there, I right-clicked and selected rename, but all it renames is the title. |

There a program that does it for you, I believe.
[ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=a...G=Google+Search ] And to rename the extension of a file, you need to configure your system to do so. [ http://www.granneman.com/techinfo/windows/showextensions/ ] |

Ok, so I successfully renamed it. Then I cut it and pasted it in the GIMPshop brushes. I refreshed the brush list, and it said there was an error and it didn't work. So, then, I turned it into a compressed folder and unzipped it in the GIMPshop brushes. That didn't work either. So how do I fix that?

That's a really good question. Maybe GIMP is more complicated when it comes to renaming brush files.

hm....weird.
Ok, well I added a big brush on the left side. I think it looks better. Where else should I add brushes? Or does it look fine now? |
