Okay..so I wasn't really sure where this should go..but I thought it should go in fashion..?!?! feel free to move this topic into another appropiate section.

Okay..well..I've always wondered how to cut hair..without like..literally screwing it up...What are some of the specific materials you need...and where can you get it?!?! Because, I know it's bad if you use regular scissors and stuff like that to cut your hair...I don't really want to take classes to learn it in school..i just want to learn the basic and stuff...sorry if this is confusing.

Basically, I just want to learn how to cut my own hair..without having to go to the hair salon or something. and I want to know what are the specific materials I need to cutting your hair, where you can get, and any sort of tips.

---

oh. and any hairstyle ideas?!?!?!

you probably need
a haircutting scissors,
hair clippers to hold parts of your hair up,
a comb, not a brush
etc...

Cutting hair is not exactly a breeze. One needs to master the technique while also updating oneself on the types of haircuts that are in vogue to keep customers totally satisfied.

Firstly, one must have good quality hair cutting equipment, be it scissors or a razor. Most beauty colleges offer a small period certification course on hair cutting. Some hair salons in India may conduct apart time course on how to cut hair. And some hair stylist conduct regular workshops on hair cutting.

If you wish to take it up as a profession, it is advisable to go in for a certification course from some reputed beauty college instead of a freelancer.

Tips for hair trim : One should ensure that the hair is dry before cutting as wet hair stretches. One should keep this in mind especially when cutting bangs/fringes, for if they are wet they’ll be far shorter once they are dry.

When trimming around the ears, its best to use clippers with a blade. If you set it on No.4 you can have half inch of hair left; and if you set it on No.2 you can have a quarter inch of hair left. You can go repeating this a number of times until the hair is well trimmed. When trimming long hair around the ears, it’s best to fold the ear down with the finger and then do the trimming.

If you need to thin out hair, it’s best to use thinning shears, which have matching sets of teeth with gaps between them as it cut it. This way some of the hairs are cut short through this process, thinning out the hair.
