I live in Etobicoke, Toronto, Canada. A cool fact? I don't know. Most people butcher the pronunciation. And that's a fact. Haha.

Then why do you go to York?

Because I don't like Catholic schools.
And I don't like overcrowded schools either. I had the choice of going to either the Cardozo DaVinci program or York and I chose York 'cause it only has 406 kids, while Cardozo has nearly 4,000. St. Francis has about the same amount of kids as 'Dozo.

Besides, the SSHSs are better than any other schools in NYC, haha.

our town has various commericals and movies shot here...such as parts of World Trade Center, and betty crocker commericals. oh and the name of our town is named after a meeting place where the native americans used to hold meetings on...this big rock which is still here today.

I didn't say all of it was, some of the suburb scenes were shot in my town in the barber shop, some houses and one of the churches here, andnicholas cage's character, from what I herd was from the suburbs, I'm 100% sure about that becuase I refuse to watch the movie, but it is true. plus movies aren't always shot in thier "setting" can't always assume that, yea I know world trade center, but ny city doesn't have the suburbs.

My HOMEtown: it's the only place in the world where a rose festival is held. The roses that grow there are, I think, the only one of their kind; a special type, that was cultivated in our country after many years of production and development. We even choose a Queen Rose every year :) It's the center of the biggest production of rose oil in the world.

Pretty awesome for such a small town. It's commonly known as "the valley of roses"..

- It would take 288 years for one person to spend one night in every hotel room in Las Vegas.
- It's against the law to pawn your dentures in Las Vegas.
- Shrimp consumption in Las Vegas is more than 60,000 pounds a day. That's higher than the rest of the country combined and adds up to 22 million pounds per year.
- Las Vegas has the highest number of unlisted phone numbers of any U.S. city.
- Elvis and Priscilla Presley were married at the original Aladdin hotel.

Lol, had to put that last one in there. Elvis and Vegas just go together, hand in hand. rolleyes.gif

so i decided to look up my town and this is what i got.

-As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 19,992

Famous people--The economy of is driven by two primary factors: the military, and prostitution.

-For example, the 'Mother of All Bombs' (MOAB) was first tested at Eglin AFB on March 11, 2003.

Edit:so i decided to look up where my mom lived when she was a teenager in huntsville, alabama. i was born around there. and look at all the famous people.

Hahaah. I looked stuff up, and I realized that I totally forgot about some things. I knew about Publix, but I had no clue that there were Hindus around here. blink.gif

- home of one of the first Hindu temples in the US
- home of Publix headquarters (major grocery store in southeast - first location was here)
- first Red Lobster was opened here

My city is known as the "Air Capital" of the U.S.

Pizza Hut, White Castle, Coleman, and Koch industeries began here.

A scene from the movie "Elizabethtown" was shot here.

And the BTK killings happened in this city.

so in addition to what i said..i'm adding on.. i looked it up haha =]

+The TV show Ed filmed some scenes in my town.

+In October 2005, many scenes of prominent locations in town were shot for the film World Trade Center, starring Nicolas Cage and directed by Oliver Stone

+This town is probably famous among video gamers, mainly because it is the headquarters of the game developer Imagineering, once a developer of console games. In every game they had produced, the following message always appears in the title screen and in the instruction booklet: "Developed by Imagineering Inc., my town". This blatant advertising practice of displaying their hometown in their games is considered a very rare practice among game developers and is probably why this town become famous among video gamers.

+Unlike most suburban towns whose names have little or nothing to do with reality, the town i live in was actually settled around an enormous rock left by retreating glaciers in a small valley (glen). From a 1985 The New York Times article, My town "is named for a 570-ton boulder, believed to have been deposited by a glacier, that stands at the northern end of Rock Road*, the town's main street. Called Pamackapuka, or Stone from Heaven, by the Delaware Indians, it served as a base for Indian signal fires and later as a trail marker for colonists."

oh and the guy holding the record for teaching over 5,000 days of school straight (he taught summer school and teaches in 2 colleges along with my high school) teaches in my town. its kinda gross..he'd come to school sick, he never missed a day of school.. i didn't like him though he never taught me anything.

Pretty awesome. :]

We also have some of the best teen directors/editors in the state here. My high school is also the only one in the area that has video announcements that are live and ran by the students only.

Um, part of Meet the Parents was filmed there...

'The scenes at the "Surf and Turf" restaurant were filmed at a Port Washington, NY restaurant called "Louie's". The car racing scenes between Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro were also filmed in downtown Port Washington. Also, the scene where Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro go shopping is in Port Washington at Salem Drugs.' - IMDb

that's it.
