Your selection tool should have a "rounded square" option. It's in a little drop-down on your toolbar.

^you mean rounded rectangle.

you could also use the custom shapes tool.

You could just make a normal rectangle. Then you click and drag one corner of the rectangle either to the left or right. It should round up :]
