Ok so basically I'm new to photoshop and well when I try to use brushes they turn out so small. Then when I try to resize them they turn all pixely. Help?

The brushes you downloaded are too small for the size of document you're creating.

Say, you're using icon (100x100) brushes on a typical wallpaper (1024x768)...they'd be extremely pixelated and wouldn't resemble a brush at all!

well. I downloaded these splatter brushes from various sites but they are small. I don't think they're icon brushes though.

Oh, icon brushes was just an example.

The brushes were probably created very small to begin with.
