welll I'm pretty confused on what race Filipinos are. what are they? asian or pacific islander?

The Philippines are in the Asia continent, therefore, Filipinos are Asians.

But then they have to fill in the "Pacific Islander" bubble on standardized tests.

^ I think it means that some Filipinos do not wish to be classified as Asians, when they actually ARE Asians. :\

I'd say Pacific Islander, but I guess you could say Filipinos are Asian.

My logic is, if Filipinos are Pacific Islanders, then the Japanese are Pacific Islanders too, because technically Japan is a group of islands in the Pacific too, isn't it?
My standardized tests say "Asian / Pacific Islander" so I never really thought about it XD |

I didn't read the rest but FILIPINO IS ASIAN NOT PACIFIC ISLANDER! Philippines is under the category of Asia therefore WE are Asians. Japan is right above us and yet they're considered Asian. Oh is it cuz we don't look chinky?! HUH?!
