[This fits more in Girls' Locker than Fashion.]

Who else cannot stand make-up? I cannot, for the life of me, wear make-up. My sister is an expert but I am a total stintz when it comes to applying make-up. I tried to put on mascara yesterday. 'Twas horrible. Let's just say it looked as though I had a black eye. The fact that my eyelashes are really long and touches my glasses doesn't make me want to wear it often... or ever, really. Eyeshadow? Don't have the patience for it. Eye-liner? Hands aren't steady enough. Lipstick? Generally don't like lipstick. Something's wrong with this picture here. I'm not a tomboy either.

I never wear makeup. mellow.gif
Never even tried either. I don't want to because I'm a total klutz and I'll mess everything up.

Hah. I am totally with you. Some of my friends wear makeup, but I don't. I never have the time for it and, well, I guess I don't care. =P (And I'm not a tomboy either.) I never put on eyeshadow and even eyeliner I don't wear. Eww. I don't like lipstick - just the texture of it is sorta gross. Oh, and I can't put on mascara to save my life. XD.gif

Hi.
If you are wanting to start wearing makeup, but do not know how to begin, I can give you some tips.
for your lips, try just using a tinted gloss or lip balm. Its way better than using yucky lipstick anyways.
If you wear glasses, and you have long eyelashes, maybe you should just skip the mascara. It dont seem like you would need it anyways.
A basic shiny, pale eyeshadow would brighten up your face like you wouldnt beleive! It also only takes a couple seconds to do, too. Just swip the applicator with shadow over the entire lid, but not too much, just enough to make it show up, then blend ti gently with your finger tip.
If eyeliner seems too scary to you, (although it really isnt scary) you could skip it, but its easy to apply. Just make sure that the point it sharpened, but not too sharp. you could soften the tip with your fingers or a tissue. So, just put little under your bottom eyelashes then with a Q-tip, blend it by kinda wiping it off.
If you do all this, there should be very little makeup on your face, it should take very little time, and you will see that it will give you a more finished look.
Makeup isnt needed at all, I think. Makeup really is just so that us girls can feel better about ourselves once in a while. Most guys will always say we look better without it. This is so true!
I would suggest that sence you wear glasses, its a good idea to make sure that your eyebrows are groomed, tweezed, waxed, shaped, or something. Sence your glasses bring attention to your eyes, girls always look better if their eyebrows are in shape.

I hope that you take at least one of my tips with you.
Have a lovely day,

I just don't like make-up at all. Yayyyy, it enhances your look, but that makes me think you'd be fake. =( I like girls (and guys...) with natural looks - they don't need anything to make them look more pretty than they already are. I think make-up is okay on special occasions (weddings, parties[well.. like those formal ones], costumes, etc.), but wearing it everyday is like.. so not me. >.<

I can't put make-up on either. I can put on eyeliner only.. and if you count lipgloss as one *but I don't* then that too. Lipstick.. NO. I go off the edges SO MUCH. laugh.gif Even for lipgloss that adds a little colour to my lips, I still go off the edges.

make-up, when applied the right way, can dramatically improve anybody's appearance... i don't think you can say anybody would look worse with it on when it's used correctly.

that's why i go with it. =) i honestly think the guys who say they don't like girl's with make-up on are the ones who see the girls with freakishly weird eyeshadow coloring + "cakey" foundation. the girls who use just enough will appear like they're just beautiful. plus, a swipe of mascara / lip balm / blush will only take you like... 3 minutes in the morning.

you're not the only one lol i don't wear it unless i have a real special occasion. its too time consuming and it does damge your skin if you use it so early, you get all wrinkly and dry faster, unless you use that oil free stuff, and if you wear it all the time u start to depend on it.

Yeah; mascara is to make one's eyelashes look longer anyways (or darken them); I'm sure that if yours are long enough, it's unnecessary. When I wear glasses, I tend to skip the mascara as well. Oh, and I love makeup. I'm just too lazy to put it on everyday. laugh.gif

i usually just put on coverup where i need it and 'highlighter' for under my eyebrows and the inner corners of my eyes (which what i use is technically white eyeshadow... but it works). they're just a few quick sweeps...

I totally agree...it's so annoying. I only wear makeup to make myself look significantly better in a shortest amount of time possible.

I have this cream eyeshadow in a stick that I just rub on, and mush with my fingers. It takes like 30 seconds and it looks way better than having nothing on my eyes at all, since the shimmery cream reflects light and makes my eyes (which are darker around the lids) look more healthy.

I always mess up eyeliner. Always. If it goes on fine at first, I know that 10 minutes later it'll leave gray marks under my eye (which is what happened today, and no one even bothered to tell me, so I looked like I got punched in the face the whole day. Yes, thanks a lot, some friends you are).

I don't like lipstick, either. Lip gloss annoys me too, since my hair gets stuck on it so often, and I hate having to reapply stuff. Oh, and it's almost impossible to play flute properly with lip gloss on. I slap on some lip balm throughout the day. Dry lips = not good.

That's pretty much it. I stick with the most minimal stuff for maximum effect.

No, no. I'm not questioning what make-up can/cannot do, but I just simply cannot put on make-up. It always comes out horribly so I rarely wear any. pinch.gif

That can't always be right, but it's true. I remember watching Oprah? Maury? and a few ladies came on and talked about their make-up issues. They couldn't leave the house ever without wearing make-up, even if it was just to go outside for less than a minute to get the mail. How shocking it is that someone could get so dependent on make-up.

i don't wear much make-up but when i wanta. i just put on some eyeliner(no mascara cuz that's too messy) and some Dr.Pepper chapstick. i think the brand it came from was Lipsmacker or something. i forgot. but yahh. i really love it. cuz it like give you this redish tint in your lips. and it's easy to wipe off if you want to.

I like to wear makeup actually. I don't depend on it but it helps me be more confident, because then I'm not worry a blemish or something silly like that.

The only thing I don't like is girls who over do it. They make it look trashy.
Like those girls who put on layers and layers of the wrong color of foundation, and then big fake lashes and bright red lipstick and heavy blush. Eck.

I go for the natural look, not too many people can tell I wear makeup when I do. I got for slight eyeliner, foundation covered with powder, the three tone natural shade eyeshadow, sometimes mascara, and occasionally light blush.

The last time I wore it was a few months ago, and it was because at school we were on the "Facial make-up" chapter, anddddd yeah, so we applied it on each other. laugh.gif

lol Mona i'm the exact opposite!
I love wearing makeup, and have been applying it since 6th grade I think.
It really just takes practice. I remember first putting on mascara...got all over the place. lol. But i've always loved doing it, and I'm thinking I want to get a makeup license someday.

I'm sorry I love eyeliner happy.gif
I don't have steady hands either so I dot my eyeliner on my lower lashes and I don't even bother trying lining the top.
Eyeshadow is gross because if you use it everyday it ruins the skin on your eyelids.

I wear glasses too. I absolutely haaaaate mascara. I rub my eyes too much. Occasionally, if I have time, I curl my lashes.
