Weston is a small school in Cazenovia, just northwest of where I live, of about 370 students.

QUOTE
Authorities said Thompson (janitor) confronted the shooter as he entered the school and wrestled a shotgun away from him, but the shooter then pulled out a pistol and Klang managed to wrestle the weapon away even after being mortally wounded.

Hainstock is being charged with first-degree intentional homicide in adult court.

According to a criminal complaint, Hainstock said that he had been teased and called names and he felt school personnel wouldn't do anything about it.

Hainstock (pictured right) told investigators that a group of kids had teased him by calling him "fag" and "faggot" and rubbing up against him. He said that he decided to confront students, teachers and the principal with the guns to make them listen to him.

The complaint said that he pried open his family's gun cabinet, took out a shotgun and then took a handgun from his parent's bedroom.

The complaint said that he shot the principal intentionally three times.

In the paper it even mentioned that the boy was bullied and went to the principle for help, but nothing happened and he kept being the target of kids and their immaturity. I was talking to my friend about this and he even mentioned "all the principle could really do is tell the kids to stop". Teachers can't threaten students, and they students don't care if they get written up for harassing another student. It seems like everytime you turn on the news you hear of some kid taking a gun to school. It even happened at my school the end of last year.

...In an unrelated incident, a student from the school was killed on Friday in a car crash.

Oh, my dad was talking about this earlier today! Wait, no. It was yesterday, since it's October 1st already. laugh.gif

It's crazy! Why didn't the principal do anything about this? He could have prevented his own death.

I can't believe there are suddenly so many school shootings. Some mentioned to me (and I agree) that it seems as though it has become a copy-cat crime.

Yeah, some kids don't know how to control their temper. I've seen plently of people get dissed worse than that and still didn't kill or hurt anyone for it.

I agree Mona. It's sad that kids think violence gets the point across. Now that kid is being tried as an adult and his life is pretty much gone.
I think a lot of kids make a misconnection (I know that's not word) between the news and shootings. When it happens it's on the news and the people watching the news will hear about your problems.
I think it's sad though, you send your children to school to learn, not to die.
