but hey, i searched. not thoroughly but i tried!

anyway, ever since i downloaded itunes 7, when i go under "artists" on my ipod nano, only songs with albums show up on the list. the ones without albums aren't under the list, but theyre under the "songs" list. it wasn't like that before. before, under the "artists" list, it would show all the songs by the artist even when there was no album name.

hope that makes sense.

so what i want is to try and find out how to get the no album songs to show up under the list under "artists".

anybody know how? care to help? much appreciated.

thank you.

You have to add in the all info for your songs.

In iTunes, your library should have an Artists column..
Some songs might not have that column filled in. You have to add in the artists' names.

no, no. the artist's names are all on there. but some of them don't have an album.. and the songs that have no album don't show up in my ipod nano under the "artists" list.

again, hope that makes sense.

it's not really a problem with itunes. it just started happening when i got the new itunes 7. the problem is mostly with my ipod nano.

yeah. and i did update my itunes just now, too. didn't help with my nano problem.

Oh. I just checked my iPod and it does the same thing.. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with it.

It's probably because of the new iPod software that was installed.

Your best bet would be to add in all the information or write "Unknown Album" for every song that doesn't have one.

Or you can contact Apple's customer service.

It wouldn't have been iTunes. It was probably the iPod software that was updated with iTunes.

oh, yeah, you're right. i forgot i updated the software thing.

that sucks. i want it to be how it was before. writing "unknown album" on every song that doesn't have one is such a hassle, but then again i'm just a lazy ass.

You don't have to write it for each one..
Just go to your library, click on Album and highlight the ones that don't have an album.
Then
Left click > Get Info > Album > Type in "Unknown Album" > Ok

Edit:
Crap, I forgot.. You're going to have to make a playlist of all your songs, then click on album twice and go through with those steps.

You know how to do that, right?

Wait, you have to click on it once and scroll down to where the albums end. And you don't need to make a new playlist.

Sorry for the confusion. pinch.gif

iTunes 7 is confusing.
