Need some advice =X Options

I don't usually post on these things (hooray lurkers), but right now my friends are abosolutely no help.

So here's the story;
I'm in Marching Band. Yeah, get the laughs out now. There's another guy in MB that I like{as more than a friend} -- we'll call him Bob. So at a band competition, I got cold and Bob let me lean against him for body warmth and at one point he put his arm around me. Woowoo. Anyway, we sit next to each other in concert band aswell and usually talk throughout the period. I talk to/hang out with him when I can {he's a grade above me}, and vice versa, so it's pretty cool.
Anyway. Quite a lot of people in MB figured out I liked him. Mostly all of the girls that asked me about it said that they think he likes me. So one of them asked him about it, and she told me the conversation went something like this:
"Hey Bob, I have a question. Do you like ___{me}?"
"Yeah, she's nice."
"No, I mean like.. as more than a friend."
"Oh. No, not really.
"Ok."
"Did she ask you to ask me?"
"No"
"Well, tell her that I'm really sorry but I'm not interested."

So what do you think? Did he say no because he was put on the spot or doesn't want to tell anyone, or does he really not like me? I'm thinking he doesn't because he told the girl to tell me that he isn't interested, but who knows. I could just be overanalyzing.
Thought I'd post because I don't want to give up if people think there's a possibility that he does like me. Sorry if this post just annoys you. Thanks ahead of time if you respond, though. =)

hmmmm im not sure. but if thats what he said then maybe it's true. but maybe you should ask him yourself, if you really want to know.

You should have talked to him yourself... but if that's what he said then I'm pretty sure he doesn't like you... the answer my have been different if you asked him yourself. Seems like he would have had alot more respect for you.
