Forgive me if this has already been posted, I searched multiple words and nothing came up. Alright, I'm looking to buy a computer recording system (for singing, mixing, etc). I was wondering if anyone knew any good ones, I googled it but that's not exactly trustworthy.

ALL my friends that make mixes of their songs or make their own songs use SONY ACID. they said its a great program and easy to use. I actually used it one time and it was very good. hope that helps.

My friend uses the iLife Garageband thing, but that's only for Mac. He says it's really good.
My other friend, who's in a band, uses Acoustica. http://www.acoustica.com/ Oh, wait. Are you looking for free ones? Because the software is usually pretty expensive.. |

Oh. Systems as in the thing with the microphones and everything?
My friends use this one: http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Conten...PRODUCT,00.html The Yamaha MW10. It's supposed to be pretty good. |

She's looking for systems. Like the ones at recording studios and stuff like that. Not software. |

I have been using Cuebase .. it's alright, it's a bit complicated though... I hear ACID is the best.
Umm. She's looking for systems. Like the ones at recording studios and stuff like that. Not software. How much are you looking to spend? If you want high quality I would suggest not buying a USB device... instead look into purchasing something that uses Firewire. uSB is alot slower than fire wire, and sometimes you can expierence delay... :P I recommend this one: Presonus Firebox It runs around 300$, and it can do/handle pretty much anything you throw at it. My Studio: -2 15" Yamaha 15" PA Speakers - $250-$300 each -2 Speaker Stands $30-$80 (depends on if you buy them used or not.) -1 GIGRAC 600's - $300-$400 -1 ACER TravelMate C310 - $1500 $2000 -1 Copy of CubaseSE $100 -1 Presonus Firebox $250-$350 -1 Audix Microphone $100-$200 My Total: $2730 - $3730 Yeah, all my stuffs took a big beatuiful hunk out of my walet... :[ You already have a pc/mac so all you really need is the FireBox, Microphones, and Recording Software to start out. I wanted speakers... I wanted the GIGRAC mixer to do some shows eventually. |
